CEE Kerala Begins Stray Vacancy Round for PG Medical admissions 2024, Details
Kerala- The Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE) has commenced the activities related to online Stray vacancy allocation for vacant seats in Postgraduate (PG) Medical Courses for the academic year 2024 in Government Medical Colleges, Regional Cancer Centre Thiruvananthapuram and Self-financed Medical Colleges in the State. In this regard, CEE has released the tentative schedule for the candidates willing to participate in the Stray vacancy round.
As per the schedule, the eligible candidates included in the Kerala State Merit list can register their options through the CEE official website till 20 February 2025, 5.00 PM. The allotment will be based on the merit list and the online options received up to 5.00 PM on 20 February 2025. Candidates who get allotment shall have to join the allotted colleges by paying the fees to the allotted college.
This allotment will be conducted to fill up the currently available vacant seats and vacancies arising, if any. Candidates shall register options to any seats they wish to join if allotted, irrespective of the vacancy status notified, as any vacancy that may arise during the counselling will be filled based on these options.
STEPS TO REGISTER
STEP 1- Visit the official website of CEE.
STEP 2- Go to the link ‘PG Medical 2024 Candidate Portal’.
STEP 3- Enter your Application Number & Password.
STEP 4- Click on the menu ‘Stray Vacancy - Option Registration’.

Meanwhile, candidates also need to pay an option registration fee the amount equal to the annual tuition fee if Government Medical Colleges (including the RCC) only are to be opted or an amount of Rs.1,00,000 if Self Financing Colleges are to be opted. Those who have paid option registration fees in the third phase but did not get any allotment need not pay the registration fees again or pay only the balance amount as the case may be. For SC/ST/OE and other candidates who are eligible for fee concession, the registration fee for Government /Pvt. Medical college seats will be half of the above amounts respectively. The registration fee paid will be refunded to the eligible candidates after the end of counselling. The registration fee of those candidates who do not join the seat allotted will be treated as a penalty and will not be refunded.
CONDITIONS
1 Fresh Option Registration is mandatory for participating in the Stray vacancy filling phase allotment.
2 All candidates who wish to participate in the Stray vacancy filling phase shall have to pay the option registration fee afresh.
3 If any candidate does not join the seat allotted in the Stray vacancy filling phase, the option registration fee will be forfeited and such candidates will be liable to pay liquidated damages.
4 If any candidate vacates a seat joined in the Stray vacancy allotment or vacates a joined seat (joined in any of the previous phases also) after Stray vacancy allotment process, he/she will be liable to pay liquidated damages.
5 Candidates who joined the allotted seats through the allotments (First, Second or Third) conducted by CEE and still continuing in the allotted seat are not eligible for participating in the stray vacancy filling.
6 Candidates who have been allotted seats in the third phase are not eligible to participate in the stray vacancy filling.
7 Those who vacated the seat after 5:00 PM of 07.02.2025 will not be eligible to participate in the Stray vacancy filling allotment.
8 The options registered in the previous phases will not be considered for allotment in the Stray vacancy filling phases.
9 Those candidates who are included in the list of ineligible candidates to be shared by the MCC after the AIQ Stray vacancy round will not be considered for the Stray vacancy filling phase.
10 Candidates getting allotment in the Stray vacancy filling phase shall not have any claim on the seats allotted earlier.
VACANT SEATS
Apart from this, CEE has also released the list of PG medical vacant seats on the official website. As per the vacant seats list, a total of 89 seats are vacant in the medical colleges of Kerala. Out of these, KMCT Medical College, Mukkom, Kozhikode has the highest number of 15 seats vacant and Government Medical College, Kottayam, Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram and Al Azhar Medical College, Thodupuzha have the least number of 1 seats vacant each.
