The NBE conducted the FMGE on January 17, 2026. The FMGE-Screening Test was introduced through the Screening Test Regulations, 2002. According to the regulations, “Any Indian citizen/Overseas Citizen of India possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by a medical institution outside India, who desires to obtain provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council on or after 15.03.2002, shall have to qualify the screening test conducted by the authority designated for the purpose in accordance with the provisions of Section 13 of the Act.”
Candidates are advised to check the exam's marking scheme. Candidates are given the option to mark any question for review, whether they have attempted it or not. This means that candidates have the option to revisit the questions in a section before the allotted time for that section expires. Candidates should note that questions marked for review will be evaluated according to the marking scheme.
