NBE invites applications for Formative assessment test 2026 for DNB post diploma courses
New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has invited applications from NBE trainees of 2025 session for the Formative Assessment Test (FAT) 2026 for DNB Post Diploma courses, with the theory examination scheduled to be held on June 10, 2026.
NBEMS clarified that FAT 2026 is currently being conducted only for DNB Post Diploma courses, while the schedule for trainees of other courses will be announced separately.
As per the official notice issued by the NBE in this regard, the following timeline has been released-

3 | Date of Theory Examination. | 10 June 2026 |
Candidates are advised to refer to the Information Bulletin on the NBEMS website for detailed eligibility criteria, fee structure, and examination scheme.
Assessment scheme consists of three parts which has to be essentially completed by the trainees. The scheme includes-

1 | PART – I | Conduct of Theory Examination | Trainee has to appear for Theory Examination to be held on 10th June 2026 across the country. |
2 | PART – II | Work Place Based Clinical Assessment. | After Theory Examination, trainee has to appear for Clinical Assessment at exam centers allotted by NBEMS. |
3 | PART – III | Performance Counselling Session on The Theory Performance. | Trainee has to appear for his/her Theory Exam Assessment Workshop after declaration of result of Theory Examination. |
As per NBEMS norms as notified vide NBEMS earler, appearance in the Formative assessments conducted by NBEMS during the training period shall be mandatorily for NBEMS trainees for the purpose of their eligibility to appear in respective Final exit examinations.
