Puducherry: The Government of Puducherry has released the NEET UG seat matrix for the academic year 2026-27 MBBS, BDS and BAMS admissions to be conducted through the Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC). The notice and the draft merit list has been issued on the official website of CENTAC.

The seat matrix, communicated by the Health Secretariat, covers government and private medical and dental institutions as well as the Government Ayurveda college in the Union Territory.

At Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute (IGMCRI), Puducherry, a total of 180 MBBS seats are available. Of these, a total of 131 seats are under Government Quota, 27 seats are under the 15% All India Quota and 22 seats are under NRI Quota.

Within the 131 Government Quota seats, the regional distribution includes 98 seats for Puducherry region, 24 for Karaikal, 4 for Yanam and 5 for Mahe.

The Government Quota matrix also provides vertical and horizontal reservation across categories including General, EWS, OBC, MBC, SC, EBC, BCM, ST and BT, along with Government School, PwD, Freedom Fighter, Ex-Servicemen and Meritorious Sports Persons reservations.

The private self-financing medical colleges together have a total intake of 750 MBBS seats, with 250 seats each.

At Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences, of the 250 seats comprise, 108 in Government Quota, 38 NRI Quota and 104 Other Management Quota.

At Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital, the distribution is 95 for Government Quota, NRI Quota 38 and 117Other Management Quota.

At Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, the seat matrix provides 95 for Government Quota, 117 for Telugu Minority Management Quota and 38 for NRI Quota.

Across the three private medical colleges, there are 298 Government Quota seats, 117 Telugu Minority seats, 114 NRI seats and 221 other Management Quota seats.

The seat matrix also covers two private dental colleges with a combined intake of 200 BDS seats.

At Mahe Institute of Dental Sciences, of the 100 seats, 35 are for Government Quota and 65 are for Other Management Quota.

At Sri Venkateshwaraa Dental College, of the 100 seats, 35 are for Government Quota, 50 for Telugu Minority Management Quota and 15 for Other Management Quota.

Together, the two private dental colleges offer 70 Government Quota seats, 50 Telugu Minority seats and 80 Other Management Quota seats.

At the Mahatma Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Dental Sciences, Puducherry, the total BDS intake is 125 seats. These are distributed as 51 for Government Quota, 50 for Self-Sustaining Quota, 19 for All India Quota and 5 for NRI/NRI Sponsored Quota.

The 51 Government Quota seats are further allocated region-wise and category-wise according to the reservation framework prescribed by the Puducherry Government.

For BAMS admissions at Rajiv Gandhi Ayurveda Medical College, Mahe, the total intake is 63 seats. The distribution is 44 for Government Quota, 9 for All India Quota, 9 for NRI Quota and 1 for Malaysian Quota.

Of the 44 Government Quota seats, 33 are allocated to the Puducherry region, 8 to Karaikal, 1 to Yanam and 2 to Mahe.

The seat matrix details both vertical and horizontal reservations.

Vertical reservation categories include General, EWS, OBC, MBC, SC, EBC, BCM, ST and BT, while horizontal reservation includes Government School Students, Persons with Disabilities, Freedom Fighters, Ex-Servicemen and Meritorious Sports Persons.

The notified matrix also contains specific rotation and swapping instructions for certain categories and regions, including adjustments involving ST and BT, EWS and BCM, and other category combinations.

The seat matrix has been approved by the competent authority and will be followed by CENTAC while conducting UG NEET counselling for the 2026–27 academic session.

The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), under the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Puducherry, has further released the Draft Merit List.

According to the notice issued by the CENTAC in this regard, the Draft Merit List for NEET-based Professional Courses (MBBS, BDS, BAMS) was published on 17 August 2026 on the official website of CENTAC Puducherry.

The Draft Merit List is prepared based on the cut-off marks prescribed in the UG NEET 2026.

The special category lists of UT of Puducherry candidates (Meritorious Sports Person, Persons with Disabilities, Freedom Fighter, Ex-Servicemen and Govt. School Students) are also published.

Meanwhile, the verification status of the submitted applications is available in the respective candidate’s dashboard. Objections/certificates to be uploaded, if any, may be submitted using dashboard login under the objections link before tomorrow, i.e. 19 August 2026, 5.00 pm.

After disposing of objections, the revised draft merit list will be published, and the number of candidates in the list is subject to change.

Also, candidates whose claims have been rejected due to non-submission of recently renewed Revenue Certificates are requested to submit proper certificates before 19.08.2026, 5.00 pm.

SUBMISSION OF COURSE PREFERENCES

1 The Seat Matrix for UG NEET-based courses was published on the CENTAC website.

2 Candidates can update their course preferences, if required, for Round 1 Allotment. Candidates whose course preferences are empty will not be considered for allotment.

SUBMISSION OF CERTIFICATES

1 In case of duplicate applications submitted by any candidate, both the applications have been rejected and his / her candidature is cancelled.

2 False information, if any, submitted by the candidate will result in rejection of the application/cancellation of the admission.

3 Final admission will be subject to physical verification of documents. The candidature of any candidate found to be submitting forged documents will be cancelled and action as per law will be initiated.
