NEET: CENTAC extends application deadline for MBBS, BDS, BAMS admissions

Puducherry: The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), under the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Puducherry, has extended the last date for submission of online applications for admission to UG NEET-based courses for the academic year 2026-27.
According to the notice issued by the CENTAC in this regard, candidates can now complete their applications till tomorrow, i.e. August 8, 2026, up to 5:00 pm.
The extension applies to admissions to MBBS, BDS, BAMS courses. No further extension of time will be provided for submitting or completing applications.
In an important relief for candidates who have not yet received their renewed certificates, CENTAC has allowed them to upload their old certificates and complete the application process by August 8, 2026, at 5:00 pm.
However, these candidates will have to mandatorily submit their renewed certificates before the publication of the Final Merit List.
CENTAC has also issued specific instructions for candidates who had already completed and submitted their applications before 5:00 pm on August 6, 2026.
For such candidates, the Edit option has been closed, and the application data has been frozen. If they wish to submit any additional certificates, they can do so through the Grievance option available in their dashboard login.
Since the Edit facility is no longer available to candidates who have already submitted their forms, CENTAC has specifically asked them not to submit duplicate applications for updating or modifying their details.
Any request for correction or modification of application data should instead be submitted through the Grievance option in the candidate's login dashboard before publication of the Final Merit List.
Candidates have been advised to complete all pending application formalities within the revised deadline, as CENTAC has made it clear that the August 8 deadline will not be extended further.
For further clarification, candidates can visit the CENTAC website, raise a grievance through their login dashboard, or contact the CENTAC helpline numbers provided in the official notice.
