Uttar Pradesh- Uttar Pradesh, Director General, Medical Education and Training (UPDGME) has started the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG) Special Stray Vacancy Round Counselling 2024 from today i.e. 11th March 2025. In this regard, UPDGME has released certain guidelines regarding the online Counselling of the Special Stray Vacancy Round under the UP NEET PG 2024 (MD, MS, Diploma and DNB) Courses.

As per the guidelines, only those candidates will be eligible for the special stray vacancy round who have not been allotted any seat in any stage of counselling of UP NEET PG 2024. However, candidates who have been admitted through any round of All India Counselling of NEET PG-2024 will not be eligible for the special stray vacancy round.

Along with this, candidates admitted through any round of counselling of NEET PG 2024 of other states will not be eligible for the Special Stray Vacancy Round. Also, candidates allotted from the All India Special Stray Vacancy Round will not be included in the allotment process of the Special Stray Vacancy Round of UP NEET PG 2024.

Meanwhile, such eligible candidates registered for UP NEET PG 2024, whose registration fee and security deposit could not be deposited due to some reasons, can participate in the counselling of the Special Stray Vacancy Round by depositing a registration fee of Rs. 2,000/- and a security deposit amount within the period prescribed in the time table issued for the Special Stray Vacancy Round. Therefore, the security deposit amount for MD and MS course seats in private sector medical colleges is Rs. 2,00,000/- and the security deposit amount for MD, MS, Diploma and DNB seats in government sector medical colleges is Rs. 30,000/-.

However, candidates registered and unallocated in counselling of 1st/2nd/3rd Round and Stray Vacancy Round, who have already deposited the security amount, will not be required to deposit the security amount again to participate in counselling of Special Stray Vacancy Round.

Moreover, candidates seeking admission to MD/MS courses in private sector medical colleges are advised to lock their choices only after obtaining complete information about the concerned college at their own level before choice filling.

The candidate will fill out the choice online based on preference for admission to government/private sector medical colleges. The candidate should fill the choice of only those colleges in which he is interested in taking admission. There is no limit for online choice filling.

After online choice filling, it is mandatory to lock the choices. In case of not locking the choices, the candidate will not be included in the seat allocation process, for which the entire responsibility will be of the candidate himself. After the choice is locked by the candidate, no change or alteration can be made in it nor will any application received in this regard at the Directorate General be considered.

At the time of choice filling in counselling for the Special Stray Vacancy Round, the unallotted / not admitted and resigned seats from counselling for Stray Vacancy Round will be displayed to the candidates as Clear-cut Vacancy.

In the counseling of the Special Stray Vacancy Round, candidates will also be shown the option of Seat Against Cancellation (SAC). SAC seats are a type of Virtual Vacancy, under which at the time of choice filling, candidates will be shown the option of seats of another reserved category/sub-category in addition to the vacant seats of their category. If any seat of the reserved category remains vacant at the time of the allotment process, then the allotment process will be completed by merging such seats.

The admission process of candidates allotted seats in the Government sector will be conducted at the level of the concerned Medical College/Institute/University/Hospital. The admission process of candidates allotted seats in private-sector medical colleges will be conducted at the nodal centres nominated by the Government. It will be mandatory for the allotted candidate to complete the admission process by appearing personally at the concerned Medical College / Nodal Centre.

If any candidate does not take admission after allotment from the Special Stray Vacancy Round, then the earnest money deposit of such candidates will be forfeited and they will be debarred from UP NEET PG Counselling 2025-26.

All the candidates allotted through the Special Stray Vacancy Round will have to produce all original educational/reservation certificates at the allotted Medical College/Nodal Centre at the time of admission, otherwise, the admission of the candidate will not be considered.
