UP DGME Releases NEET 2024 Stray Vacancy Round Counselling Schedule, Registrations begin Today

Uttar Pradesh- The Uttar Pradesh Director General of Medical Education (UP DGME) has released the schedule for the Stray Vacancy round of online NEET counselling for admission to undergraduate courses (MBBS/BDS) of government/private medical/dental colleges/ institutions/ medical universities of the state.

ALl the concerned candidates are advised to take note of the schedule which is as follows:-

"To participate in the stray vacancy round, it is mandatory for all eligible candidates to get fresh registration done by paying Rs.1000/- (Rs. One Thousand only) as online registration fee separately.  Candidates should assess their eligibility themselves as per the instructions contained in the Government Order/Brochure of UP NEET UG 2024," the DGME notice read.

Instructions for candidates participating in the stray-vacancy round under UP NEET UG 2024:

Only candidates who have not been allotted any seat in any phase of UP NEET UG-2024 counseling are eligible.

Candidates admitted through All India Counselling for NEET UG-2024 are ineligible.

Candidates who were admitted, did not report, or resigned after being allotted seats in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd rounds of UP NEET UG-2024 are ineligible.

All eligible candidates must make a fresh registration by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1,000.

Candidates will have to deposit the security amount through online process as per the table given below. Candidates who do not deposit the security amount will not be eligible for choice filling-

For private sector Medical course seats

2,00,000 (Rs. Two lakh only)

For Dental course seats in private sector

Rs. 1,00,000 (Rs. One lakh only)

Candidates who were registered but unallocated in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd rounds and have already deposited the security amount do not need to deposit again.

Candidates participating for the first time in the stray-vacancy round will need to deposit the security amount as per the rules.

Candidates admitted to BDS courses in the previous rounds can participate in the stray-vacancy round for MBBS, but must ensure to deposit the security amount for MBBS in either government or private sectors.

Documents for Online Verification: Candidates must upload the following documents:

  • High School Marksheet/Certificate
  • Intermediate Marksheet
  • Reservation-related certificates (OBC, SC, ST, EWS, EX-Servicemen, NCC, FF, PwD) (if applicable)
  • Domicile Certificate (if applicable)
  • All reservation certificates (OBC, SC, ST, EWS) must be issued by a competent authority in Uttar Pradesh on the prescribed format. OBC and EWS certificates will be valid only if issued on or after April 1, 2024. SC/ST candidates should ensure that their reservation certificates are in the updated format issued by the UP Government to ensure a smooth verification process.

Candidates must deposit the required security amount through the online process.

Those who do not deposit the security amount will not be allowed to participate in choice filling.

Candidates participating for both government and private (medical and dental) seats must deposit Rs. 2,00,000 as earnest money.

Candidates participating for dental seats in both government and private sectors must deposit Rs. 1,00,000 as earnest money.

Use your own bank account to make the deposit. The earnest money will be refunded to unallocated and admitted candidates after completion of counseling rounds, into the same bank account used for payment.

During registration, candidates must select a nodal center for online document verification. The list of nodal centers is available in the UP NEET UG 2024 government order dated 26.07.2024 and the official brochure.

Candidates from reserved categories of states outside Uttar Pradesh will be considered unreserved for the UP NEET UG 2024 process and will not be eligible for reservation benefits.

If a candidate does not take admission after being allotted a seat in the stray-vacancy round, their earnest money will be forfeited, and they will be debarred from UP NEET UG Counselling 2025-2028.
