Vacant PG Medical Seats: NEET PG 2020 Cutoff lowered by whooping 20 percentile points

New Delhi: In order to fill up the vacant PG medical seats across the medical colleges and institutions in the country, the National Board of Examinations, the exam conducting body for NEET PG 2020 has now lowered the qualifying percentile and the resultant cut-off score for appearing for counselling.

The move comes after the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in consultation with the Medical Council of India (MCI) announced the lowering the required cut off percentile in order to fill the vacant seats and gave directions to NBE to this effect.

 The result of NEET-PG 2020 was declared by NBE on 30th January 2020. In accordance with Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India letter F.No.V.11012/15/2020-MEP dated 14th July 2020, the minimum qualifying percentiles have been lowered as follows:

The revised scorecard of all the candidates who appeared in NEET-PG 2020 can be downloaded from NEET-PG website https://nbe.edu.in/ from 20th July, 2020 onwards. The revised Scorecard will not be sent individually to the candidates.

Candidature is purely provisional subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria as mentioned in NEET-PG 2020 Information Bulletin.

" It may be noted that there is no change in NEET-PG 2020 Rank," the NBE said in its notice

The move comes in wake to fill up the vacant seats that have been left vacant in the earlier rounds of counselling. It is mandatory for aspirants to secure the revised minimum qualifying percentile of NEET PG 2020 are eligible to appear for the counselling process. Now with the move, the vacant seats will be available to more medicos who earlier couldn't participate in previous rounds due not meeting the criteria
