150 medicos receive MBBS degrees at 93rd MMCRI graduation day

Mysore: Around 150 students of the 2016 batch received their MBBS degrees recently in a 93rd Graduation Day event organized by the Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI).

Congratulating the students, the Chairperson of Murty Foundation Sudha Murty who came to the event as a chief guest gave a speech to the students saying that "Doctors should not keep their focus on building money as money will flow with service. Patients' health should be a priority for them at all times."

Similarly, she said that treating the patients would be a good blessing for the doctors since they were like gods.

As per the Star of Mysore report, she said that "It is possible to make lots of money but it is impossible to earn good health. We see a lot of rich and wealthy suffering from various ailments. A doctor's role is critical here. "Keep updating your knowledge. The day you stop acquiring new knowledge, that is the end of it. If a doctor fails to update their ever-changing knowledge then the direct effect is on patients."

M.A. Shekar, Vice Chancellor of Adi Chunchanagiri University, S. Chandrashekar Shetty, former V-C of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Dr. K.R. Dakshayani, Principal, MMCRI, Dr. H.N. Dinesh, Director and Dean, MMCRI, were present.

At the event, the college provided certificates to the students and awarded those who topped in various subjects. Students from as many as 18 departments received awards for being at the top in the following subjects— Gayathri won for three subjects (Physiology, Pathology, Paediatrics) and Ryan for four subjects (Biochemistry, Microbiology, PSM, Surgery), Sandeep won for three subjects (Ophthalmology, Medicine, OBG), Sanjay for Forensic, Srushti for two subjects (Anatomy,Pharmacology) and Divya for ENT.
