Anantapur: In an unfortunate incident, a third-year MBBS student of Kuppam Medical College in Chittoor district allegedly ended his life by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his residence on Friday.

It is believed that the student was undergoing mental pressure and was incapable of handling it. 

The deceased person, who was in their third year of MBBS at the institution, has been identified as the child of Venugopal, a Hindupur Rural inspector.

As per a media report in DC, the student arrived at his parent's residence two days prior to undertaking the drastic action. The reason for his extreme action remains unknown and is yet to be determined by the police.

The incident came to light after his parents heard noises coming from his room following which they went to his room and saw his lifeless body hanging from the ceiling. 

Immediately, he was taken to a nearby hospital where the doctor declared him brought dead. 

Later, the police arrived at the hospital after being alerted about the incident. They conducted a preliminary investigation and found no suicide note in his room. 

A case has been registered by the police and an investigation is underway.
