AIIMS Jodhpur suspends 2 nursing students over ragging allegations
Jodhpur: Taking cognizance of the ragging complaint, the administration at AIIMS Jodhpur has suspended 2 nursing students and barred them from taking part in any academic activity. One student was suspended for three months while another for one month.
Speaking to PTI, an official informed that the decision was announced on Tuesday based on an inquiry conducted by a committee formed to probe the ragging charges made by a first-year student.
During the inquiry, the three students admitted to making the offending comments and tendered an apology. However, they said the comments were made casually and had no idea the complainant would be hurt to this extent, he said.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported about the ragging incident that surfaced from Kottayam, five third-year nursing students were arrested for allegedly ragging first year students at the Government Nursing College. It was alleged by the 1st year students who were subjected to ragging that they were allegedly forced to strip naked, dumbbells hung from private parts, stabbed with geometry box compasses and beaten bloody for three months.
