Andhra Pradesh to launch 5 New Medical Colleges this year, 750 MBBS Seats to be added
Andhra Pradesh- Bringing a major boost to the state's medical education, the Andhra Pradesh government is all set to launch five new medical colleges from the 2024-25 academic year.
According to TOI report, these five new government medical colleges will be established at Pulivendula, Paderu, Markapuram, Adoni and Madanapalle.Each of these five new government medical colleges will have 150 MBBS seats, with a total intake of 750 seats.
The daily adds that the state's Medical and Health Department has also applied to the now National Medical Commission (NMC) ersthwile Medical Council of India (MCI) for approval to start classes in these new colleges.
The Andhra Pradesh government planned to establish 17 government medical colleges in a period of three years and it has already been started from the academic year 2023-24 where the state Government has launched five medical colleges one each in Vijayanagaram, Eluru, Rajahmundry, Machilipatnam and Nandyal. Along with this, from the upcoming academic year i.e. 2025-26 the state government is planning to open seven more new medical colleges from the academic year.
