Churachandpur Medical College all set to start by October 25, classes to commence mid November

Churachandpur: Churachandpur Medical College (CMC) is all set to start functioning by October 25 of 2022 by beginning the counselling process for the first batch of medicos, stated Union Minister of state for Education Subhas Sarkar.
The college authorities are also trying to make provisions to start the first year classes from November 15th.

On Tuesday, the minister inspected the Churachandpur district with the BJP Manipur office holders and spoke with several BJP morchas and mandals regarding the various aspects of the college, reports Imphal Free Press.
In a press meet, the union minister said CMC is meaning provisions to introduce post graduate courses at the earliest. He also spoke about the various initiatives that the BJP government has undertaken, such as the district's roads and infrastructure.
Recently Health Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan had also inspected the premesis of the medical College on Thursday. The director and faculty of the medical college were present during the inspection. The Health Minister held a meeting to discuss the situation of the medical college during his visit to the area.
Though the authorities have not decided on any official date for inaugurating the institution, the authorities are trying to make arrangements to commence the classes from 15 th November. Dr Ranjan admitted that there still some lacks and much work is needed to start the medical college but he also had faith that the college authorities are capable to support out all of those parties soon, within 15 th November, reports Epao.
Previously Medical Dialogues reported that the National Medical Commission (NMC) given its nod for 100 MBBS seats at Churachandpur Government Medical College in the beginning of September.
A team including the Churachandpur AC MLA LM Khaute; Vualnam; Director of Health and family welfare Dr Sashi Kumar; Director of Churachandpur Medical College Dr (Prof) S Iboyaima Singh; DC of Churachandpur Sharath Chandra Arroju and people from the construction company had team inspected all the rooms of the new college including the dissection hall, clinical physiology lab, haematology lab, histology practical hall, seminar cum library hall, anatomy museum, professor room, classrooms, etc on September.
While communicating with the media, the Health Minister confirmed that the medical college will soon be inaugurated by the Chief Minister and the classes will commence from October 2022.
