JIPMER calls for Submission Of Proposals To Institutional Ethics Committee, Check out details

Puducherry: Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) invites online applications to submit proposals to the Institutional Ethics Committee for Interventional Studies for June 2022.

Faculty, PhD scholar, P.G. and U.G. Students can submit research proposals approved by JSAC/PGRMC/SCTRC/GJ-STRAUS for approval by Institutional Ethics Committee (Interventional Studies) in the prescribed proforma available on the website. For filling out the online version of the JIEC application form and relevant annexures, the link https://iecmanager.org/institution/283 can be used.

The following documents soft copies are to be uploaded –

1. The signed declaration form

2. Consent forms

3. Scientific proposal

The hard copies of the following documents are to be submitted –

1. Covering letter

2. JSAC/ UGRMC/PGRMC certificate

3. GCP certificate of student & guide

4. Approved research proposal (JSAC ver. August 2020) / PGRMC proposal dated 15.11.2020)

5. Printout of the online IEC application

6. Signed Original Declaration form

7. Informed Consent Documents (PIS, Consent forms, Assent form etc.)

8. Data collection proformas, Questionnaires etc.

9. CV of PI / Co-PI (s) / Guide/ Co-Guide (s)

10. Any other documents

The hard copy documents mentioned above have to be submitted to Member-Secretary, Institutional Ethics Committee – Interventional studies (IEC-IS) at the Institute Ethics Committee office, First floor, Administrative Block, JIPMER. The hard copy should be typed using both sides of A4 size paper, in 12 font size with 1.5 spacing and page numbering.

The last date for submitting proposals to reach the office of the undersigned for consideration of approval by the Institutional Ethics Committee (Interventional Studies) for June is on or before 10th June 2022. Proposals submitted before the last date will be taken up for discussion in IEC Interventional committee meeting scheduled to be held on 30th June 2022.

Procedure for online application for ethics approval -

1. Click the link https://iecmanager.org/institution/283 to visit the eEC portal. Click on Register as Principal Investigator to open the Online Application Form.

2. In the online form, investigators must fill in their background information. After submitting the online form, the investigator will receive an e-mail to create a password for their account. Password must include an uppercase letter, a lower-case letter, a number, and a special character.

3. Reopen the webpage again and log in with user I.D. (Personal E-mail ID) and password as Principal Investigator.

4. Click on Submit new project on the left menu.

5. Fill in the required details under Project Summary.

6. Answer the filter questions suitably to proceed with the online filling of the application form. The detailed questions are mentioned in the notice below.

7. Fill out the Application form for Initial review as per project requirements.

8. Download the Declaration page and affix the signatures of all the investigators. If required, use an additional blank sheet. Scan and upload on the same webpage. Click Save and Continue.

9. Fill out the checklist page as required. Continue filling the Annexures.

10. In the Documents section, upload essential documents after selecting the appropriate option from the drop-down menu (Covering letter forwarded by the guide, JSAC Protocol including data collection proforma, Informed Consent Documents in English &Tamil) in pdf format only and click on save button.

11. Once the Next is clicked, the incomplete sections will be highlighted in orange. Revisit the sections and complete the must enter fields in the suitable formats.

12. The last tab on a CV can be used to save your CV profile on the website for future use.

13. Finally, all the tabs appear green. Click on Submit to IEC review button to finish the submission.

Procedure for downloading the filled in application for hard copy submission –

1. On the home page, click on the My projects tab and look for your submission. Click on the eye icon for a project overview.

2. Click on the Projects documents tab and check the bottom half for downloading the IEC application.

3. View the application and download it.
