Puducherry: Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has invited participation in the Common Yoga Protocol and Yoga Break Protocol practice as a part of the 8th International Yoga Day.

The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated annually on 21 June since 2015, following its inception in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. This year it is the 8th International Yoga Day.

JIPMER has shared that as per the communications received from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Ministry of AYUSH, the Government of India, the yoga day will be celebrated on 21 June 2022. Two programs are planned for that day at the Advanced Centre for Yoga Therapy Education & Research (ACYTER), Department of Physiology.

The program includes Yoga-Break (Y-Break) Protocol Practice and Practice of Common Yoga Protocol. The 1st program started on 1st June 2022 and continues until 15 June 2022. The program is conducted between 9.30 am, and 10.30 am at Yoga Hall, ACYTER, Department of Physiology, 1' floor JIPMER Academic Centre (JAC). The 2nd program will be conducted on 16 June 2022 between 7 am to 8 am at the community hall.

The participants of the above two mentioned programs will get the participation certificate. Also, they can participate in a yoga competition to be held on 20 June 2022. The staff members of JIPMER can bring their family members to participate in the above 2 programs.

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research is a medical school located in Pondicherry. It is an institute of national importance (INI) and a tertiary care referral hospital. It is under the direct administrative control of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Indian Government, with autonomy to run its internal administration. The courses include undergraduate, postgraduate, super speciality, fellowships, PhD. programs, post-basic diploma and certified courses.
