NMC Grants Permission To Increase 50 More MBBS Seats At People's College of Medical Sciences and Research Center

Madhya Pradesh: National Medical Commission (NMC) has given the nod to the People's College of Medical Sciences & Research Center to increase its intake capacity for the MBBS course by 50 seats. The Director of Medical Education (DME Madhya Pradesh) announced this through a written notice.

As per the notice, the total number of seats increased to 250 seats from 200 seats. These increased seats will be added in the mop-up round of NEET UG counseling.

The application to increase the seats was submitted to the Honorable High Court. Based on the acceptance of terms and conditions mentioned in the LOI dated 1.12.2022 and submission of the necessary affidavit and the Bank Guarantee worth Rs. 1.00 crore, the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARS) of NMC has granted the permission.

This permission for an increase of 50 MBBS seats and admission of students will be for the such time the first batch of students admitted against the above course appears for the final examination in the subject. The college authorities may take up the matter for recognition of the qualification under section 35(2) of the IMC Act at the first batch admitted against the sanctioned intake of 250 MBBS Seats of final examination with the National Medical Commission.

The institute will be fully responsible for fulfilling and maintaining norms, including physical and human resources infrastructure, teaching faculty, clinical material, etc., throughout the academic year, as stipulated in the Regulation of the National Medical Commission (NMC).

In case false/wrong declaration or fabricated documents have been used for procuring permission of the MARB and the said misconduct is brought to the notice of the National Medical Commission (NMC) or found during surprise assessment at any stage during the current academic year, the institute is liable, not be considered for recognition of the degree. This letter of permission will be revoked for the current academic year in such exigency arise. Besides, National Medical Commission (NMC) is entitled to take all such measures against you and your college/institution as permissible under the law.

The Government medical colleges must contribute 15% of MBBS seats and 50% of Post Graduate Broad Specialities (MD/MS) for All India Quota, respectively, to MCC of DGHS for the conduction of counseling as per the directions of the Supreme Court.

It is mandatory to develop a biometric attendance website on the medical college/institution and display all the college information, courses offered, faculty available, and their experience of the last 5 years, students joined, and an affiliating university. To display the hospital services, facilities available, and the equipment in each specialty, also showing OP and IP census including births and deaths per the Municipal/Govt. records.
