Set up Jan Aushadhi Center at GMC Amritsar: Minister OP Soni

Chandigarh: Punjab Medical Education and Research Minister Om Prakash Soni on Thursday directed to set up a Jan Aushadhi Centre at Government Medical College in Amritsar.

While presiding over a high-level meeting to review the working mechanism of Government Medical College Patiala and Amritsar here, Mr Soni said that Jan Aushdhi Centre at Amritsar will provide much-needed respite with affordable generic drugs to local residents.

During the meeting, Mr Alok Shekhar, Principal Secretary of the department, informed that the construction work of State Cancer Institute Amritsar was in full swing and it would be completed soon and dedicated to the people of Punjab. He said that Super Specialist Services for Cancer treatment at Government Medical College, Patiala would also be started shortly.
