Tura Medical College to be functional soon
Shillong: In a good news for aspirants seeking MBBS admission in Meghlaya, the government has announced that the Tura Medical COllege is going to be functional soon.
As per UNI report, Meghalaya Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh, recently informed the Assembly that the ''physical progress'' of the Tura Government Medical College is 75 percent and that it would be made functional soon. The minister has further informed that the state government is calling the National Medical Commission (NMC) for inspection for the medical college.
Replying to a query from Leader of the Opposition Dr Mukul Sangma (Trinamool Congress) regarding the total area of the parcel of land donated by the community for the project, Lyngdoh stated that the total area of land donated was 99.00 acres and the total amount sanctioned by the Government of India for the project till date is Rs 170.10 crore.
She further informed that the total amount of money released for the project till date is Rs 185.65 crore.
