RGUHS Ayurveda Board of Studies Gets New Chairman

Udupi: Dr. Mamatha K. V, an Ayurveda specialist, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Ayurveda Board of Studies (Undergraduate) by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Dr. Mamatha K. V is currently the Principal of SDM College of Ayurveda & Hospital, Udupi. She was appointed as the Chairman of Board of Studies in Ayurveda on 23rd September 2021.

She is a gold medalist and holds a Bachelor's degree in Ayurvedic medicine along with a post graduate degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Dr. Mamatha K V also holds a doctorate from the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur. She is passionate about the science of ayurvedic diagnosis and treatment.

Along with the appointment of a new chairman, the team also gained some other new members - Dr Harish, Principal and Professor, Ashwini Ayurvedic Medical College, Tumkur, Dr Raviganesh, Principal and Professor, Department of Kaumarabritya, Sharada Ayurveda Medical College, Mangaluru, Dr C T Basavarajappa, Principal and Professor, Department of Shareer Kriya, Bapuji Ayurvedic Medical College Challakere, Dr Roopa Bhat, Principal and Professor, Department of Kayachikitsa, Dhanvanthari Ayurveda College, Siddhapur, Dr Vijayakumar Katrannavar, Professor, Department of Rasashastra, JG Cooperative Society's, Ayurveda Medical College, Ghataprabha, Dr Sukesh, Professor, Department of Shalyatantra, Alvas Ayurvedic Medical College, Moodbidre, Dr Jayaraj R, Professor, Department of Koumarabritya, JSS Ayurveda medical College, Mysore and Dr Champa Panth, is a Professor, Department of Koumarabritya,Sushrutha Ayurveda Medical College, Bengaluru, adds Daijiworld.

The newly appointed board will be working for a tenure of 3 years.

Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka a premier Health Science University in India was established on 1st June 1996 at Bangalore by the Govt. of Karnataka through its enactment of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka Act 1994 to encompass all the existing health science colleges and institutions which were earlier affiliated to the conventional universities in Karnataka with a purpose of ensuring proper and systematic instruction, teaching, training and research in modern and Indians systems of medicine.
