NBE Accreditation For DNB, DrNB, FNB July, August 2022 Cycle: Last date for Applications Further Extended
New Delhi : Through a recent notice, NBE (National Board of Examination) has informed All applicant Hospitals /Institutions /Medical Colleges regarding Extension to the date for submission of DNB/DrNB/FNB applications for seeking accreditation with NBEMS (July / August 2022 application cycle).
NBEMS had released the application form for accreditation with NBEMS in DNB/DrNB/FNB (July / August 2022 cycle) courses. National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) accredits hospitals /institutions for running various Broad & Super Specialty courses and Fellowship courses.
Applications are invited from hospitals /institutions /medical colleges for:
a. Renewal of accreditation for Super Specialty (DrNB), Fellowship (FNB) & Fellowship Post-Doctoral (FNB-PD) courses.
b. Fresh and Renewal applications for Broad Specialty (DNB) including Direct 6 years courses.
The application forms have to be submitted only in online mode through Online Accreditation Application Portal (OAAP) which can be accessed through NBEMS website www.natboard.edu.in
Last date for submission of the application form has been extended as tabulated below:

The Government of India established the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in 1975 with the objective of improving the quality of the Medical Education by establishing high and uniform standards of postgraduate examinations in modern medicine on an all-India basis and utilizing existing infrastructure for capacity building.NBEMS at present conducts postgraduate and postdoctoral examinations in approved specialties leading to the award of Diplomate of National Board (DNB) and Doctorate of National Board (DrNB) respectively. The Examinations conducted by NBEMS provide a common standard and mechanism of evaluation of minimum level of attainment of the knowledge and competencies of medical specialties. Moreover, intra country and international comparisons are facilitated with the availability of common evaluation mechanism.
The nomenclature of the qualification awarded by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is "Diplomate of National Board" (DNB), "Doctorate of National Board" (DrNB) & "Fellow of National Board" (FNB). These qualifications awarded by NBEMS in various Broad Specialties, Super specialties and Sub-Specialties are approved by the Government of India and included in the First Schedule of IMC (repealed) Act 1956 / NMC Act 2019.
