NBE Extends Last Date For Thesis Submission For Candidates Appearing in DNB Final Theory Examination April 2023
Delhi: National Board of Examinations (NBE) has extended the last date for thesis submission for candidates scheduled to appear in DNB Final Theory Examination in April 2023.
The last date for thesis submission for the 2020 admission session is extended till the 31st of March 2023. No further extension will be given, and those trainees who do not submit their thesis by the 31st of March 2023 will be rendered ‘ineligible’ to appear in DNB Final Theory Examination in April 2023.
Previously the last date for thesis submission by DNB Broad Specialty (Post MBBS) Trainees of the 2020 admission session and the candidate desirous of appearing in the DNB Final Theory Examination in April 2023 was the 31st of December, 2022. However, NBEMS has received numerous requests from trainees and accredited institutions to extend the last date for thesis submission, as trainees have not been able to complete the thesis. So this extension has been granted.
As per NBEMS norms, writing a thesis is essential for all DNB trainees towards the partial fulfillment of eligibility for the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) Degree. DNB Broad Specialty (Post MBBS) Trainees of the 2020 admission session have been scheduled to appear in DNB Final Theory Examination - April 2023 as already notified vide NBEMS notice dated 26.10.2022.
The Government of India established the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in 1975 to improve the quality of Medical Education by setting high and uniform standards of postgraduate examinations in modern medicine on an all-India basis utilizing existing infrastructure for capacity building. NBEMS currently conducts postgraduate and postdoctoral examinations in approved specialties leading to the award of Diplomate of National Board (DNB) and Doctorate of National Board (DrNB), respectively.
