NBE nod for 16 Post MBBS Diploma Seats at Rani Durgavati Medical College
Banda: In a major milestone for the Banda-based Rani Durgavati Medical College, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) has given its nod for 16 Post-MBBS Diploma seats.
The nod from NBE has come for four specialties including the Department of Pediatrics, Anaesthesia, Family Medicine and ENT.
Admission for these courses which will continue for two years will be done through NEET exam.
Rani Durgavati Medical College is a State Government-run medical college in Uttar Pradesh. Since 2016, the college has been admitting 100 students in the MBBS course.
As per the latest media report by Jagran, the Government Medical College administration had sought for permission for commencing this post-MBBS Diploma course in January 2021. Following this, Dr. Rajneesh inspected the medical college on the behalf of NBE and submitted his report.
Based on that report, NBE has now given its nod to the medical college for running Post-MBBS diploma courses in four specialties including Paediatrics, Anaesthesia, Family Medicine, and ENT. The duration of these courses will be for two years.
While commenting on the matter, the Principal of the Rani Durgavati Medical College, Dr. Mukesh Yadav told Jagran, "For the first time, the college has got approval to start Post MBBS Diploma. Due to this the college courses have increased. Those who have a diploma of medical education will get the benefit of this."
Meanwhile, expressing his happiness over the approval of the medical college for commencing post-MBBS Diploma, Principal Secretary of Medical Education Department, Alok Kumar has advised the heads of other districts for taking suggestions from the Banda principal.
