NEET 2020: NTA extends correction facility, specifies on Candidates' Photographs, Signature, Thumb Impression in application forms

New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has informed about the extension of the correction facility opened for candidates who intend to rectify their Particulars and choice of Centre Cities, photograph, signature and Left Hand Thumb Impression in the Online Application Form. Further, the agency has issued specific instructions to the candidates whose Signature and Left-Hand Thumb Impression uploaded with the application is illegible or they are have uploaded Photographs with Mask.

The extension of the facility for correction in the Candidate Particulars has been considered due to COVID-19 epidemic.

It was brought to the notice of all the candidates of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) (UG)-2020 that the facility for correction in the Particulars, Choice of Centre Cities, Photographs, Signature and Left Hand Thumb Impression in the Online Application Forms has been extended from 15/07/2020 till 20/07/2020*.

The candidates are advised to visit the website (ntaneet.nic.in) and verify their particulars and make necessary corrections wherever required.

'**' Corrections in the particulars in the Online Application Forms shall be accepted upto 05.00 PM and submission of fee (if applicable) upto 11.50 PM.

The NTA will make all-out effort to allot Centre City of examination to the candidates in order of the choices now being opted by them in their Application Form, subject to the availability of capacity in the desired city. However, due to administrative reasons, a different city may be allotted, and the decision of the NTA regarding allotment of Centre City shall be final.

In case, any additional fee payment is required depending on the changes made in the form, the requisite (additional) fee, if applicable, can be paid through Credit/Debit Card/ Net Banking/UPI and PAYTM. The final changes/update in the online application form will be reflected only after the payment.

Some of the candidates have uploaded Photographs/ Signature/Left Hand Thumb Impression which are illegible or have uploaded Photographs with Mask; such candidates are advised to upload clear photographs/signature/Left Hand Thumb Impression of desired specification (as detailed in Annexure - A) to avoid cancellation of their candidature.

No change in the application form will be accepted through fax/application, including e-mail etc. Those candidates who have sent emails earlier regarding any correction are also advised to verify and make necessary corrections, if required by them.

Specifications for Candidate's Photographs, Signature and Left-Hand Thumb Impression:

(In case of any eventuality of left thumb being unavailable, right-hand thumb impression may be used.)

1. Upload scanned image of Candidate's latest Passport size and Post Card size Photographs,

Signature and Left-Hand Thumb Impression in JPG/JPEG format.

2. Photographs should be with clear contrast, face and ears clearly visible.

➢ File size of scanned Passport size photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb and Post

Card size photograph (4"X6") (50 kb to 300 kb)

➢ The photograph should be colored or black/white.

➢ Photographs should not be with a cap or goggles.

➢ Photographs should not be with Mask.

➢ Spectacles are allowed only if being used regularly.

➢ Polaroid and Computer-generated photos are not acceptable.

➢ The photographs need not be attested. Candidates are advised to keep 6 to 8 passport size and 6 to 8 postcard size colour photographs with white background to be used for counseling and admission purposes.

➢ Applications not complying with these instructions or with unclear photographs are liable to be rejected.

➢ Application without photographs shall be rejected.

Note: Candidates may note that if the photographs uploaded are found to be fabricated i.e. de- shaped or seem to be hand-made or computer made, the application of the candidate will be rejected and the same would be considered as using Unfair Means and the candidate would be dealt with accordingly.

In case someone else's photographs have been uploaded, the candidature shall be cancelled and the case will be considered as using UFM. Criminal action as per laws of the country shall also be initiated.

3. File size of scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb.

4. File size of scanned Left Hand Thumb Impression should be between 4 kb to 30 kb.

The candidates are advised to visit the website and verify their Application Form and make necessary corrections wherever required.

The candidates are requested to undertake the correction(s) very carefully as no further chance of correction will be provided to the candidates. The candidates and their parents are advised to keep visiting official websites of NTA (www.nta.ac.in) and (ntaneet.nic.in) for latest updates.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) (UG)-2020 has been rescheduled from 26.07.2020 (Sunday) to 13.09.2020 (Sunday) from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM.

In view of the current situation arising from COVID-19 pandemic, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) (UG)-2020 will now be held on 13.09.2020 (Sunday) from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM.
