KEA Begins Registration Process For Post Basic BSc Nursing Course, Apply till 18th October
Karnataka: Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has begun the registration process for Post Basic BSc Nursing course for the academic year 2023-24.
As per the notice, the candidates can carry out the registration process till 18-10-2023, and the payment of prescribed fees can be done till 19-10-2023. The rank assign and document verification dates will be notified later. Verification of Documents and Schedule for option entry and seat allotment process will be notified later on the KEA website.
General and Academic Eligibility -
The candidate should have studied and passed a qualifying Diploma or GNM from Government Institute or Karnataka Government recognized educational institution located in the State of Karnataka, and candidates who were domiciled in Karnataka for 10 years and have studied in Karnataka for a minimum period of seven years.
For Non In-service Candidate -
1. Hold a diploma in General Nursing and midwifery (GNM).
2. Be a registered nurse
3. Have passed the Pre-university examination in Arts /Science/ Commerce conducted by the Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State, or its equivalent recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences
4. For In-service Candidate
5. Should have passed the General Nursing and Midwifery examination.
6. Should have registered with Karnataka Nursing Council (Staff Nurse/LHV)
7. Should have passed PUC or equivalent examination in Arts, commerce, or Science from the educational institutions recognized by any University in Karnataka.
8. Should have completed a number of years of service and should have satisfactorily declared the probationary period as per KCSR rules.
9. Should be a Domicile of Karnataka
10. In-service candidates from Govt./Govt. Autonomous institutions shall opt for UG PBBSc seats only in the Government Nursing Institution. However, if seats are not available in the Government institution in such a case, they can opt seat from a Private Nursing Institution. (No. MED 443 MSF 2022 Dated 02.01.2023.)
11. Should have completed a minimum of 3 years of service if deputed earlier to follow studies.
12. Selection shall be based on the seniority in respect of In-service candidates following the reservation policy of the state.
13. In-service candidates for higher studies must submit NOC obtained from the appointing authority.
14. Should have good moral turpitude, service motive, and service record.
15. In-service candidates should be admitted through the KEA Counseling process.
Certificates to be produced at the time of document verification -
1. Final printout of the online application form.
2. Proof of having paid the application fees.
3. S.S.L.C marks card (for proof of Date of Birth).
4. Marks Card of II-PUC or equivalent examination.
5. Diploma marks card for all Years. (for B.Sc. Allied Health Sciences)
6. Marks Card of General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) for all years
7. Karnataka State Nursing Council Registration certificate
8. Domicile certificate for 10 years in Karnataka (issued by the Tahasildhar) and study certificate for having studied seven years in Karnataka.
If applicable, the following documents should be produced -
Caste Certificate / Caste Income Certificate / Income Certificate obtained from the concerned Tahasildhar for the candidates claiming Reservation benefits. (Caste and Income Certificate in Form ‘D’ in case of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and in Form ‘E’ in case of Category-I and a Caste Income Certificate in Form ‘F’ for other backward classes like 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, issued by the jurisdictional Tahasildhar).
Hyderabad-Karnataka Region Reservation (Article 371 (j):) Candidates claiming must submit the certificate in Annexure – A (eligibility certificate – rule 3 (3))issued by the concerned Assistant Commissioner during document verification.
Additional documents for In-service candidates in Post Basic B.Sc Nursing -
1. Government order of satisfactory declaration of the probationary period.
2. No objection certification for higher studies issued from respective appointment authorities.
3. Service certificate from the Head of the Department.
4. In-service candidates must apply online with all the relevant information.
Further, In-Service candidates shall furnish the information sought in the application form / Information bulletin through their respective Head of the Department to the Directorate of Medical Education with all the relevant documents.
Merit List –
The Course wise merit list will be announced on the KEA website as per the calendar of events.
Candidates who are persons with disability (PWD /PH) -
1. Guidelines regarding admission of students with “Specified Disabilities” under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
2. The “Certificate of Disability” shall be issued in accordance with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, notified in the Gazette of India by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment [Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan)] on 15th June 2017.
3. The extent of “specified disability” in a person shall be assessed in accordance with the “Guidelines for the purpose of assessing the extent of specified disability in a person included under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016)” notified in the Gazette of India by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment [Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan)] on 4th January 2018.
4. The minimum degree of disability should be 40% (Benchmark Disability) in order to be eligible for availing reservation for persons with specified disability
5. The Seats under the PWD quota will be allotted to eligible PWD on inter-se-merit. Candidates with disabilities below 40% of candidates will not be eligible for selection of seats under the PWD quota.
6. The Medical examination of Persons with Disabilities will be notified on the KEA website.
