UP DGME to hold counselling for BSc Nursing, Post Basic Nursing, MSc Nursing Courses today, details

Uttar Pradesh: The Directorate General of Medical Education (UP DGME) announced the counselling schedule for BSc Nursing, Post Basic Nursing, and MSc Nursing courses. Information regarding forming a medical board for the disabled category candidates to participate in the counselling has also been released.

As per the notice, the round 1 counselling process was supposed to begin on 6th October 2022. But now, due to avoidable reasons, the counselling process will start on 8th October 2022. The detailed schedule will be published on the website. Therefore, the candidates need to keep track of the official website http://www.dgme.up.gov.in/.

Candidates with a disability will have to get a certificate for disability. They can get the certificate from King George's Medical University, The Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, which is a medical Institute and government and private Kanpur, Prayagraj, Jhansi, Gorakhpur, Agra, Meerut, Kannauj, Azamgarh, Ambedkar Nagar, Jalaun, Saharanpur, Bada, Budaun, Ayodhya, Basti, Bahraich, Shahjahanpur, and Firozabad.

The disability certificate can be obtained till 15th October 2022. The candidates are requested to collect the certificates within the specified date.

The medical education department plays a pivotal role in developing medical and para-medical personnel to cater to the state's health needs. The department also has a role to play in establishing and maintaining well-equipped teaching institutions, which are the premier referral centres from peripheral hospitals. The medical education department was bifurcated in 1981 from the department of medical health services. The separate directorate of Medical Education was established in 1994. It has been functioning as a separate directorate for the last 16 years. It controlled Medical Colleges and attached teaching hospitals.

The team of Medical Dialogues reported recently that DGME had released the seat matrix and merit list for DNB courses for the academic year 2022-23. As per the seat matrix, 51 seats have been allotted for DNB courses for the academic year 2022-23. The highest number of seats is allotted to Balrampur Hospital Lucknow, with 8 seats, followed by UHM Hospital, Kanpur, with 6 seats and Autonomous State Medical College, Firozabad, with 5 seats. The merit list consists of State Rank, Roll Number, Name, Father's Name, UP Category, NEET Rank, and NEET Marks. A total of 108 candidates are there on the list.
