Odisha Govt Simplifies NOC norms for commencing new courses in nursing, pharmacy, and allied medical sciences courses

Bhubaneswar: The process of issuing no-objection certificates to different institutes for the purpose of commencing new courses in nursing, pharmacy and allied medical sciences has been made simple by the State Government of Odisha.

These new courses include B.Pharma, M.Pharma, diploma in medical laboratory technology (DMLT), diploma in radiotherapy, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy.

Issuing a Gazette notification in this regard on Tuesday, the Govt informed that all the inspection procedure by the government officials of all the institutes will be conducted informing the health and family welfare department beforehand.

In the Gazette notification, the Government further informed that it shall put a stop to the inspection process conducted by the district administration i.e. collector and district magistrate, additional district magistrate, BDO, deputy collector, tahasildar etc.

From now on, a team of inspectors who are experts in medical or paramedical or nursing or allied science subjects related to the concerned course shall conduct the inspection.

The Gazette notification stated, as reported by Telegraph India, "Private entrepreneurs will be encouraged for establishing high-quality and sustainable healthcare educational institutions for imparting qualitative high-skilled education in nursing, pharmacy and allied medical science courses and generate high-skilled healthcare personnel in the state."

"The GIS and Gap analysis system for determining the requirement of a number of institutions in a district shall be discontinued. No application prior to the issue of this notification shall be entertained for revalidation," it added.

Further, the notification informed that the State will take steps to constitute government institutes as per the demands for unserved areas.
