Tamil Nadu: 5251 seats are available for paramedical degree courses for the 2022-2023 session. The Director of Medical Education (DME Tamil Nadu) announced the tentative vacancy position.

The candidates willing to retain their seat allotted in the 1st phase of online counseling need not participate in 2nd round of online counseling. A candidate, who has taken a seat in self-financing institutions and not joined the course, is not eligible to participate in this online counseling.

Those who are willing to re-allot courses/colleges have to register, and fresh choice filling and locking should be done. Their seat (allotted in 1st round of online counseling) will be open for choice filling in 2nd round of counseling.

Admission to Paramedical Degree courses shall be made by online counseling based on rank by applying the rule of reservation. The candidates selected for admission should give a self-declaration form when reporting to the concerned College that they are liable for forfeiture of selection/admission if suppression of facts or misinterpretation is found at any time during or after the admission to the course. The allotted candidates must download their provisional allotment order and join the course in the concerned Medical College/Institution on or before the stipulated date and time.

The Department of Medical Education plays a pivotal role in developing medical and paramedical personnel to cater to the health needs of the State. The department also has a role to play in establishing and maintaining well-equipped teaching institutions, which are the premier referral centers with State of the art equipment and technology. Research is another area of activity for the Medical Education Department.
