JIPMER Releases Date For Document Verification And Admission Process For PhD Admission

Puducherry: Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has released the date for document verification and admission for PhD admission 2022-23. The list of provisionally selected candidates has also been announced.

Per the notice, the personal interview for PhD admission was held on 19th December 2022. After the personal interview, the provisionally selected candidates must appear in person for document verification and admission. The process will be carried out on 11th January 2023 at 9.30 am.

The provisionally selected candidates will have to carry the following documents for the verification process –

1. Original Certificate for confirmation of the date of birth (Birth Certificate/Tenth mark list)

2. Online application photocopy

3. Qualifying Medical/Nursing/Non-Medical Degree Examination certificate with Mark list of all semesters in original

4. Conduct certificate in original

5. Transfer/Migration certificate in original

6. Domicile/Residence certificate in original/Digital

7. COVID Vaccination certificate

8. One set of copies of all (SI. No 01 -07) certificates & documents

9. Passport size photo 4 numbers


The provisionally selected candidates will have to report on the date mentioned above, failing which; they will forfeit the right of admission. At any time, if the competent authorities find that admission has been offered based on false/incorrect information/ documents and suppression of relevant facts, educational qualification or quota, the admission offered or the admission already completed will be cancelled, irrespective of the stage of the study of that course. Further, legal proceedings will also be initiated against such candidates for such actions.

The course duration will extend from registration to submission of the thesis. It will be at least 3 years, and the maximum period of registration shall not exceed five years. Extension for a maximum period of up to 6 months beyond 5 years can be given on the recommendation of the Dean (Research) and after final approval by the Director. A final extension of up to 6 months (beyond 5½ years) can be given in highly exceptional circumstances (such as medical exigencies, natural calamities, etc.) only on the recommendation of the Doctoral Research Committee and approval of the Director.

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research is a medical school in Pondicherry. It is an institute of national importance (INI) and a tertiary care referral hospital. It is under the direct administrative control of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Indian Government, with autonomy to run its internal administration. The courses include undergraduate, postgraduate, super speciality, fellowships, PhD programs, post-basic diplomas, and certified courses.
