TN Health Invites Applications For Paramedical Courses 2021

Chennai: Through a recent notice, the online applications have been invited by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Tamil Nadu for admission into paramedical degree courses for this academic year. The last date of registration is 8.11.2021 till 5:00 P.M.

The DME has also issued the prospectus for the candidates that consists of eligibility criteria, instructions, fees details, counselling procedure, etc. All the concerned candidates can view the schedule as mentioned below:

The instructions for the candidates are as follows:

1. (a) Candidates seeking admission to all Paramedical Degree courses should submit the online filled in application form along with necessary enclosures should reach the following address:- 

The Secretary, Selection Committee, No.162, E.V.R. Periyar High Road, Kilpauk, Chennai – 10. 

(b) The candidates shall ensure that the filled-in online application form with all particulars and enclosures reaches the Selection Committee within the date and time specified. Online filled-in applications received by Speed Post/Courier or any other means after the last date & time will not be accepted irrespective of the date of booking. 

(c) The Selection Committee shall not be responsible for any delay in the receipt or loss in transit of online application form etc. 

(d) Request for extension of time for submission of documents called for, after the specified date and time will not be considered.  

(e) Any supporting documents / online applications received after due date will not be considered.  

(f) Candidates seeking admission under Special Category for the Paramedical Degree Courses (Children of Ex-Servicemen Orthopaedically Physically Disabled,) shall submit the prescribed format (Annexure-I & Annexure-II (A)& (B)

(g) If the required certificate for special category are not enclosed the candidate will not be considered under special category. But they are eligible for general category only.  

(h) Candidates can track their online applications on the websites by entering their online application number (or) +2/Equivalent Examination Reg. No. of first appearance with the year.  

2. ELIGIBILITY:-

1. The candidate should be a citizen of India and Native of Tamil Nadu. 

3. NATIVITY:-

a) Candidates belonging to other States cannot claim nativity of Tamil Nadu

b) Candidates who are Native of Tamil Nadu and who have studied 6th standard to 12th standard in schools of Tamil Nadu need not submit their "Nativity Certificate".

c) Permanent Residence Certificate in Lieu of Nativity Certificate will not be accepted. 

d) Candidates who are Native of Tamil Nadu, but studied from 6th Standard to 12th standard either partly or completely in one or more states should produce their Nativity Certificate issued by the competent authority and true copies of their parent's certificates such as SSLC /10th Mark Sheet,12th Mark Sheet, Transfer Certificate, Aadhar, Voter's ID, Driving License, Passport and Ration Card to substantiate their place of birth in Tamil Nadu, to ensure the relationship between the parent and candidate. If the true copies of the supporting documentation are not produced, then the application will be summarily rejected.  

e) Candidates who are native of Tamil Nadu alone will be considered for communal reservation. 

f) Other State candidates who are not native of Tamil Nadu but who have Studied 6th standard to 12th standard in Tamil Nadu will be treated as OC (Open Competition) candidates.

4. AGE LIMIT:–

The Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December 2021. (Those who were born few days later can also be included, i.e. maximum 15 days).  

a. FOR B.Sc., (NURSING) COURSE:-

Candidates belonging to OC / BC / BCM / MBC/DNC should not have completed 30 years as on 31st December 2021. For SC / SCA / ST candidates should not have completed 35 years as on 31st December 2021. 

b. For B.ASLP

Candidates shall not exceed more than 25 years as on the 1st July of 2021 B.ASLP 

5. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: -

The Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying Examination of the Higher Secondary Course conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other Equivalent Board in the following group of subjects with minimum eligible marks. 

(a) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.

(b) Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics with any other subject. 

6. MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY MARKS: -

i. B.Pharm. /B.ASLP Courses

For OC / BC / BCM / MBC / DNC Candidates: - Passed in Higher Secondary Course with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology or Mathematics not less than 40 % aggregate marks. 

For SC / SCA / ST Candidates: - Passed in Higher Secondary Course with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology (or) Mathematics. 

ii. B.Sc. Nursing Course:

For OC / BC / BCM / MBC / DNC Candidates: - Passed in Higher Secondary Course with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology with not less than 45% aggregate marks.  

For SC / SCA / ST Candidates: - Passed in Higher Secondary Course with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology with not less than 40 % aggregate marks.

iii. B. Optom. Course:

Passed in Higher Secondary Course with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology or Mathematics 

v. B.P.T /B.Sc.Radiography & Imaging Technology / B.Sc. Radio –

Therapy Technology / B.Sc. Cardio Pulmonary Perfusion Technology / B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology / B.Sc Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia Technology / B.Sc Cardiac Technology / B.Sc Critical Care Technology /B.Sc Physician Assistant / B.Sc Accident & Emergency Care Technology / B.Sc Respiratory Therapy / B.O.T/ B.Sc Dialysis Technician / B.Sc.Neuro Electro Physiology / B.Sc. Clinical Nutrition courses.

All Categories: Passed in Higher Secondary Course with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology. 

III. PROCEDURE FOR FILLING AND SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATION:- 

 a) (i)The candidate should log on to any one of the following official websites :

www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in  / www.tnmedicalselection.org     

(ii) The fee for online application process is Rs.400/- and should be paid via bank portal. 

(iii) Candidates should submit their filled-in online application form by uploading the details in the required fields.  

(iv) Request for change in any particulars in the online application shall not be entertained under any circumstances after submission.  

(v) Candidates are advised to submit only one application form. If a candidate submits more than one application form, his/her candidature will be cancelled.

(vi) Candidates should ensure that all information entered in the online application is correct during the online submission of application form. 

(vii) Candidates should submit the print out of the filled-in online application form (Hard Copy) along with necessary enclosures.

(a) The filled-in online application form along with the necessary enclosures should reach the following address. 

The Secretary, Selection Committee, No.162, E.V.R. Periyar High Road, Kilpauk, Chennai – 10.

(b) Candidates should send their filled-in online application form along with all the enclosures in an A4 size cloth-lined cover. The template with the requisite details should be printed and pasted on the cover.  

(c) AR Number (Application Registration Number) will be assigned by the Selection Committee on receipt of the filled-in online applications. 

The Candidates are instructed to enclose only the photocopies (not original) of the following certificates in the order indicated below along with the application. 

a. The Mark sheet(s) of H.S.C. examination/any other Equivalent examination duly endorsed by the competent authority. Photo copy of both the sides of the mark sheets should be enclosed.  

b. Transfer certificate obtained after the completion of H.S.C. or Equivalent courses. 

c. Nativity certificate (if applicable).  

d. Permanent Community Certificate Card

e. Candidates seeking Admission against Special Category seats should submit necessary certificates obtained from appropriate authorities in the prescribed form and submit them along with the application to the Selection Committee. (Please see format in the (Annexure-I & Annexure-II (A) & (B) 

f. X - standard Mark Sheet.

g. Certificate for proof of study from 6TH standard to 12TH standard (candidate who studied in Tamilnadu) 

h. H.S.C Hall Ticket

i. First graduate Certificate (claiming to be the first graduate in their family if applicable). Certificate submitted along with application alone will be considered. If submitted later to the college authorities, it will be summarily rejected (Annexure IX - a & b). 

IV. MERIT LIST. 

11. a) CALCULATION OF MARKS:-

(i) Ranking will be made on merit on the basis of marks obtained by the eligible candidates in the prescribed science subjects in the qualifying examinations reduced to the base of 200 marks. The marks obtained through different Boards will be taken into account after normalization

Weighted Total Marks for a maximum 200 Percentage in Biology (after normalization) (X)

Percentage in Physics and Chemistry - Taken Together (Y) (after normalization)

Percentage in Botany and Zoology - Taken Together (Z) (after normalization)

Percentage in Mathematics (after normalization) (W) Weighted total marks for a maximum of 200.

Either (X+Y) OR (Z+Y) OR (W+Y)

The percentage and the weighted total should be accurate to two decimals.

ii) Ranking of the candidates will be done based on the total marks obtained in the prescribed Science Subjects after normalization of marks computed to a maximum of 200.

iii) Only the marks obtained in the prescribed Science subjects in the Higher Secondary Course qualifying examination as a whole in the first appearance will alone be taken into consideration for the allotment of seats to the candidates and the improvement marks in Higher Secondary Course examination of any year will not be considered. Also the marks obtained through part by part appearance in Higher Secondary Course examination will not be considered including for natives of Tamil Nadu who have passed any other equivalent examination from other Boards/States. 

V. ONLINE COUNSELLING PROCEDURE (SINGLE WINDOW SYSTEM):-

1. Online Counselling Schedule will be available only on the website. Candidates should lock their choices of Colleges and Courses as per the schedule. Admission to Paramedical Degree courses, shall be made by counselling on the basis of merit applying the rule of reservation. 

2. Counselling for the Special Categories (Ex-Service men & Persons with Disability) will be done before the General Category. There will be no reallotment /change of college for special category.

3. The processing fee of Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty Only) should be paid through online mode via bank payment portal to participate in the online counselling. 

 4. A candidate who has not registered and has not locked the choices in the 1st round of online counselling will not be permitted to the subsequent rounds of online counselling.  

5. At the time of choice filling, candidates can choose the Course and College of their own choices on merit basis and the same will be allotted as per the availability of seats.  

REPORTING

1. The allotted candidates should download their provisional allotment order and join the course in the allotted Medical College/Institution in person before the date and time specified in the allotment order along with the Originals and copies of the Certificates.  

2. Candidates who have downloaded the provisional allotment order and have not joined the course will not be eligible to attend the subsequent rounds of online counselling.  

3. The candidate who has joined the course during 1st phase of counseling only eligible to attend the subsequent phases of counselling for re-allotment of Colleges. The date of such counselling will be published on the websites and also will be informed to the Dean/The Principal of respective Colleges. No individual intimation will be sent to the candidates.

4. The movement of candidate from one category to another category (from self-financing to Government Colleges) and from one Government college to another Government college will be based on the merit following the rule of reservation. The date of such online counselling will be published on the websites and also will be informed to the Dean/The Principal of respective Colleges.  

5. The vacancies arising after the first phase of counseling and also to the new colleges if any added will be filled up from the waiting list through online counseling, (if necessary). 

6. No Re-allotment for any course within Self-financing colleges.

7. Individual request for transfer of course and college will not be entertained.

8. Mutual transfer will not be entertained.

6. TUITION FEE

 a) GOVT. COLLEGES

The Tuition Fee for All Courses in all Govt. Colleges (per Annum) Rs. 3,000/-

b) Candidates who have been selected under Differently Abled category are exempted from paying the Tuition Fee and Special Fee.  

c) SELF FINANCING COLLEGES

d) If any modification in the Fee for 2021-2022 will be fixed by the Fee Committee and will be informed during/after Counselling. Detailed information regarding Scholarship, Fee Concession, Hostel Facilities, etc. can be obtained from the Head of the Government Institution in which the candidate joins. 

e) Students of SC /SCA/ ST community, whose Parents / Guardian's annual income is less than Rs. 2,50,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs and Fifty Thousand Only ) and for SC converted Christianity students whose parents/ guardians annual income is less than Rs.2,00,000/- ( Rupees Two Lakhs Only) are exempted from payment of all compulsory, non- refundable fees ( Enrollment/ Registration, Tuition, Games, Union, Library, Magazine, Medical Examination and such other fee compulsorily payable by the scholar to the Institution or University / Board) and also exempted from all compulsory Non refundable fee fixed by the Fee Committee.

The fee, so exempted shall be claimed by the respective Institutions under the Scholarship Programme of the Government of India. (As per G.O.(Ms) No.6 AD and TW Dept. dated 09.01.2012 and G.O.(Ms) No.51, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, dated 7.8.2013) and as per G.O.(Ms).No.92/AD and TW Dept. dated 11.09.2012.

 The selection and admission of candidates of other Universities / Boards will be provisional subject to approval of the qualifying examination by the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University under which the candidate gets admitted. In case, the recognition is not accorded for the admission of the candidate on any ground, the provisional admission will not entitle the candidate for the continuance of the course and the admission will be cancelled. 

The Selected Candidates should produce all the original documents at the time of admission to the Deans/Principals of respective Colleges concerned. Selection will be cancelled if the candidates do not produce the original documents at the time of admission. 

The candidates will be required to undergo Medical Examination at the College to which they are allotted before the Medical Board on the date notified by the authorities of the College. Only those candidates found medically fit will be admitted and be permitted to pay the fee.  

The candidates selected for admission and their parent/guardian will have to sign discipline declaration form in Annexure–VI, Revision of fee declaration form in Annexure–VII and Allotment and Re-allotment declaration form in Annexure–VIII. Failure to sign the declaration will result in the cancellation of selection.

For all the Paramedical Degree Courses, no admission shall be made after cut off date fixed by the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R Medical Unievrsity. 

All selection and admission for Para Medical Courses are only provisional. The Selection and admission are liable to be cancelled at any time as and when the eligibility conditions are found to be defective or incorrect or there has been any suppression or misrepresentation of facts. The Selection Committee reserves the right to cancel the allotment of Para Medical courses and Colleges. 

The Candidate selected for admission to Para Medical Degree Courses are not guaranteed any appointment in Government Service.
