TN Health Invites Online Applications For Admission To Paramedical Degree Courses, details
Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu Health (TN Health) has invited online applications for admission to paramedical degree courses in government medical colleges and government seats in self-financing colleges/institutions affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University for the 2023-2024 session.
The detailed schedule –
1. Commencement of uploading the online application - 19-06-2023
2. Last date for uploading the online application - 28-06-2023
3. Expected date for declaration of Merit through the official website - Will be intimated later
4. Tentative Allotment of seats - Will be intimated later
5. Last date of admission - The date as mentioned in the allotment order of the candidate
The online application form can be accessed from the following websites –
1. www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in
2. www.tnmedicalselection.org
The fee for the online application process is Rs. 500/- and should be paid via the bank portal. Candidates must submit only one online application form. If a candidate submits more than one online application form, only one will be accepted.
The candidates who are unable to access the online application can appear in person with a parent or guardian, along with all the original certificates, at any one of the facilitation centres available in the nearest Government Medical Colleges / Tamil Nadu Government Dental College and TFC (Tamil Nadu Facilitation Centre) in each District ( where there are no Medical colleges yet) and utilize the facilities to access and apply online.
Candidates must take the printout of the prospectus and read it carefully with their parents or Guardians before filling out the online application. They must also ensure that no mandatory column is left blank. In the event of Non-Acceptance of the online application form, no correspondence/request for re-consideration will be entertained. An incomplete online application form will not be accepted.
Candidates seeking admission under the Special Category for the Paramedical Degree Courses (Children of Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Benchmark Disability) shall upload the prescribed format [Annexure-I & Annexure-II (A)& (B) attached in the notice below].
Suppose the required certificate for a special category has not been uploaded. In that case, the application of such candidates should be considered under General Category only if they fulfil the norms for the General Category.
The following is the certificate to be uploaded along with the application form –
1. Class X Mark Sheet
2. The Mark sheet(s) of the H.S.C. examination/any other Equivalent examination duly endorsed by the competent authority on both sides must be uploaded.
3. Transfer certificate obtained after the completion of H.S.C. or Equivalent courses.
4. Nativity certificate
5. Community Certificate
6. Candidates seeking Admission against Special Category seats should obtain necessary certificates from the appropriate authorities in the prescribed form and upload them. (Please see the format in (Annexure-I & Annexure-II (A) & (B)
7. Certificate for proof of study from 6TH standard to 12TH standard (candidate who studied in Tamil Nadu)
8. First graduate Certificate (claiming to be the first graduate in their family if applicable)
9. Parent Community Certificate Obtained from Revenue Authority of Government of Tamil Nadu

Eligibility –
The candidate should be a citizen of India.
Nativity -
1. Candidates should be Natives of Tamil Nadu.
2. The candidates who claim their Nativity in Tamil Nadu should submit their Nativity certificate issued by the competent Revenue authority of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
3. Candidates belonging to other States cannot claim the nativity of Tamil Nadu.
4. Permanent Residence Certificate in lieu of a Nativity Certificate will not be accepted. Nativity Certificate submitted with the application alone will be accepted, and sending the Nativity Certificate separately will not be entertained.
5. Candidates who are Native of Tamil Nadu and who have studied 6TH standard to 12TH standard in schools of Tamil Nadu should also produce Nativity Certificate and Community Certificate issued by the competent authority. The Community Certificate of either one of the parents obtained from the competent Revenue Authority in Tamil Nadu should be enclosed to claim Communal Reservation. If candidates do not submit the certificates mentioned above and even if they have studied Standard 6th to 12th std completely in Tamil Nadu, the candidate will be considered under Open Category only.
6. Candidates who are Native of Tamil Nadu but studied from 6th standard to 12th standard either partly or completely in one or more states should upload their Nativity Certificate issued by the competent revenue authority of Tamil Nadu.
7. Other State candidates who are not native of Tamil Nadu but Studied 6th standard to 12th standard in Tamil Nadu will be considered under Open Category (OC) candidates and have to produce their Bonafide Certificate from the school in which they studied from std 6th to 12th std.
8. Community Certificates of the candidates or either one of their parents obtained from other states will not consider for communal reservation.
Age limit –
1. For All Courses (Except BSc Nursing) - Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as of 31st December 2023
2. BSc Nursing - Candidates should have completed 17 years as of 31st December 2023. Candidates belonging to OC / BC / BCM / MBC/DNC should not have completed 30 years as on 31st December 2023. SC / SCA / ST candidates should not have completed 35 years as of 31st December 2023.
Educational qualifications –
Candidates should have passed all the subjects of the qualifying Examination of the Higher Secondary Course conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other Equivalent Board in the following group of subjects with minimum eligible marks.

Candidates who have passed any other equivalent examinations other than Tamil Nadu State Board/CBSE with the same group of subjects mentioned above should produce the eligibility certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University, Guindy, Chennai-32, before joining the course.
In the case of candidates who have furnished the mark sheets of the qualifying examination, only in GRADES will the minimum marks of the grades alone be considered while determining the marks in the select Science subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany and Zoology.
Candidates with GRADES mark sheets should obtain a certified statement of marks from the examination authority and upload the statement of marks to indicate the marks secured.
The normalization method will be adopted for calculating the minimum eligibility mark for the candidates who have passed any other equivalent examination.
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Courses in the vocational stream are not eligible to apply to Paramedical Degree Courses.
Merit list –
Merit list will be made on merit based on marks obtained by the eligible candidates in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying examinations reduced to the base of 200 marks. The marks obtained through different Boards will be taken into account after normalization.
In cases where two or more candidates obtain an equal aggregate of 200, the rank of such candidates shall be determined based on the following order namely –
1. Percentage in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together in Higher Secondary Course Examination
2. Percentage in Chemistry in Higher Secondary Course examination
3. Percentage in Physics in Higher Secondary Course examination
4. Date of Birth – Weightage given to seniority in age
5. Computerised Random number assigned. The higher value of the random number will be taken into consideration
The candidates will be permitted to participate in the online counselling as per their merit, and they may exercise their option as per their eligibility norms as mentioned in the prospectus.
Online counselling procedure (single window system) –
The online counselling schedule will be available only on the website. Candidates should lock their choices of colleges and courses as per the schedule. Admission to Paramedical Degree courses shall be made by counselling based on merit applying the rule of reservation. Guiding for the Special Categories (Ex-Servicemen & Persons with Disabilities) will be done before the General Category. There will be no re-allotment /change of college for the special category.
The processing fee of Rs. 250 should be paid online mode via the bank payment portal to participate in the online counselling. At the time of choice filling, candidates can choose any number of eligible courses and colleges, and the allotment will be made based on their choices following merit and the rule of reservation.
The allotted candidates should download their provisional allotment order and join the course in the allotted medical college/institution in person before the date and time specified in the allotment order, along with the originals and copies of the certificates.
The candidates who have joined the course during 1st phase of counselling only are eligible to attend the subsequent phases of counselling for re-allotment. The date of such counselling will be published on the websites and also will be informed to the Dean/The Principal of respective colleges. No individual intimation will be sent to the candidates.
The movement of candidates from one category to another (from self-financing to government colleges) and from one government college to another will be based on merit following the rule of reservation. The date of such online counselling will be published on the websites and also will be informed to the Dean/The Principal of respective colleges.
The vacancies arising after the first round of counselling and the addition of seats, if any, due to approval/permission of new colleges, will be filled up through subsequent online counselling if necessary. No Re-allotment for any course within Self-financing colleges. An individual request for transfer of course and college will not be entertained. The mutual transfer will not be entertained.
