UP to re-operate paramedical training centers closed for last 30 years

Lucknow: Boosting the health infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government is preparing an action plan to re-operate state government training institutes, which have been closed for the last three decades.

In this regard, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed top officials to work on infrastructure facilities for better training of ANMs (Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery) and GNMs (General Nursing and Midwifery). Keeping in view the need of the youth, along with providing all the necessary infrastructure and facilities, the state government is resuming their operation.

As many as nine nursing schools are going to start in the state from July 15, while 35 ANM training centers will start operating in the month of August. The CM has instructed the officials to ensure strict standards of compliance in every institute.

The CM also said that the standards should be strictly followed. "The faculty should be good enough to take full care of the training. Make sure arrangements are made for their training in the Medical College and District Hospital," he said.

UP will emerge as the largest nursing hub once GNM training schools, ANM training centers, medical colleges and district hospitals become operational as training centers. Due to the relentless efforts of the Yogi government in the medical field, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, major changes are being seen in the medical field.

Giving special emphasis on medical services in Yogi Govt 2.0, the state government has increased the number of seats in nursing courses on behalf of the Medical Education Department.
