PGIMER clarifies on purported media report on MD, MS entrance exam

Chandigarh: Through a recent notice, the Postgraduate Institute Of Medical Education And Research, Chandigarh (PGIMER) has clarified about the entrance exam dates for MD MS courses which created an apparent confusion after a media house published another date for the exam.

All the candidates who are set to appear for the MD and MS entrance exam for admission at PGIMER, view the belowmentioned details of the said notice attached below:

With reference to the news published in the Hindustan Times (htchandigarh) regarding 21st June 2020 as the date of entrance exam for admission to MD/MS course, it is clarified that the entrance exam for MD/MS course will held as per schedule on 14th June 2020 at 41 centers and there is no change in the date of exam.
It may further be noted that the Secretary Health to Govt. of India, Ministry of Health has also written to all the Chief Secretary of all the states to facilitate the conduct of exam and allow movement of candidates on the basis of admit cards issued to them by the PGIMER, Chandigarh.

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh was conceived in 1960 as a center of excellence which would endeavour to develop patterns of teaching in postgraduate medical education in as many branches as possible and attempt to produce specialists in several disciplines of medicine. It was also envisaged that these specialists would spread out in the country in various medical colleges and medical institutions and impart medical education of the highest standard to the students and set up nucleus of excellence in their own institutions. The PGIMER was also given the responsibility to broaden the horizons of medical knowledge by intensive research in the field of health.
