PGIMER issues clarification on Medical Entrance Exams; Details
Chandigarh: Through a recent notice, the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh (PGIMER) has given clarification about the conduct of upcoming entrance examinations.
All the concerned candidates who are set to appear for PGIMER entrance examinations scheduled for June - 14, 21, 22 and 26; can view the details of the said notice as mentioned below:
With regard to queries & apprehensions of candidates regarding the conduct of entrance exam for admission to various courses of PGIMER, Chandigarh scheduled for 14.06.2020, 21.06.2020, 22.06.2020 and 26.06.2020, the following is clarified:
• The dates of entrance exams have already been postponed once to the new schedule.
• It is the compulsion of the institute to conduct the exam on these dates only as the present batch is passing out on 30.06.2020 and patient care in hospital cannot be compromised at any cost.
• The Institute has taken all precautionary measures including arrangements of social distancing at all the exam centres as per guidelines of Govt. of India regarding COVID-19. It will be mandatory for the candidates to wear a mask covering mouth & nose and to download Aarogya Setu App in their mobiles. Provisions for thermal scanning, hand wash, and sanitizers are also made at all the centres. Candidates having COVID-19 symptoms will not be permitted to appear in the exam.
• Ministry of Home Affair, Govt. of India vide order dated 30.05.2020 has already issued guidelines for phase re-opening (Unlock-1) of lockdown under which restrictions on inter/intra-state movement of persons & goods have been lifted. No separate permission/e-permit will be required for such movement.
• Candidates may download their admit cards.

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh was conceived in 1960 as a center of excellence which would endeavour to develop patterns of teaching in postgraduate medical education in as many branches as possible and attempt to produce specialists in several disciplines of medicine. It was also envisaged that these specialists would spread out in the country in various medical colleges and medical institutions and impart medical education of the highest standard to the students and set up nucleus of excellence in their own institutions. The PGIMER was also given the responsibility to broaden the horizons of medical knowledge by intensive research in the field of health.
