Planning for MBBS, MD, MS at IGMCRI? Here is the fee structure, seat matrix for this academic year

Puducherry: Recently, Indira Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, Puducherry (IGMC RI) released the fee structure for MBBS and PG medical courses for the academic year 2023-24.

All the concerned candidates seeking MBBS and MD, MS admissions at IGMC RI are advised to take note of the fee structure mentioned below.

MBBS Admissions:

Candidates applying for an MBBS degree at this college will have to pay INR 143700 academic fees annually which will include caution fee, admission fees, academic fees, special fees, lab fees, library fees, cultural fees, student welfare fund, college development fund and sports fee.

The notice released on the CENTAC website also mentioned the hostel fee structure which ranges from INR 12500 to INR 30000 depending upon the occupancy and availability. Apart from the room fees of the hostel, the candidates will have to pay INR 13100 as miscellaneous charges which include utility charges, hostel establishment charges and hostel student welfare fund.

For NRI students taking admission to this college will have to pay USD 110000 for admission and other fees and USD 15000 for Caution Deposit. Their hostel room rent is USD 1200 and other hostel miscellaneous charges for USD 15200, which will include a caution deposit, utilities and mess fee.

There are 180 seats in the MBBS course of this college, among which 131 seats are for Government Quota, 22 seats seats for NRI quota and 27 seats for All India Quota.

PG Medical Admissions:

College fees for candidates pursuing Post Graduation (MD/MS) will be INR 185000, which will include a refundable Caution Deposit, admission fee, academic fee, learning resource fee and establishment charges.

The college offers varied courses. The list of the courses is mentioned below:

1. Candidates applying to the MD Microbiology program are eligible for 2 seats under state quota and 2 seats under All India Quota.

2. Candidates applying to the MD Pathology program can vie for a lone seat available for both the state quota and the All India Quota.

3. Candidates applying to the MD Anatomy program can vie for a lone seat available for both the state quota and the All India quota.

4. For students applying to MD Community Medicine two seats are reserved for each state and all India quota.

5. Both state and All-India quota candidates aiming for MD Forensic Medicine can compete for the two available positions.

6. For students applying in MD Pharmacology 2 seats are available for each state and all India Quota.

7. Students applying for MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology have the opportunity to secure two seats under both state and All-India quotas.

8. Each state and All India quota category offers one seat for students applying for MS ENT.

9. For students applying for MS in General Medicine 2 seats are available for each state and all India quota.

10. A total of two seats are allocated for candidates applying for MS General Surgery from both state and All India quotas.

11. For students applying for MS Orthopedics 2 seats are available for each state and all India quota.

12. The MS Ophthalmology program has two seats allocated for each state and the All India quota.

For Hostel Fees candidates will be charged a refundable caution deposit of INR 10000 and room rent of INR 4000(per month) in Post Graduation.
