Six MBBS Students Held in NEET Paper Leak Case: 'Munna Bhai' Racket Exposed

In fact, revealing that the NEET paper leak incident on Sunday was a result of this gang, the police have already arrested 9 people including 6 medical students, adds the New Indian Express.

Among the MBBS students, two girls were third year medical students belonging to Dehradun Medical College and Bharatpur Medical College. Apart from them, the rest of the students are from Dehradun and Banaras Medical College.

The gang allegedly charged Rs 20 to Rs 25 lakh from every student and in exchange sent qualified medical students appear in the examination on their behalf.

The racket was busted by a special investigating team led by Ajmer range IG S Sengathir. Around 13 people from Jaipur, Delhi and Kota have been arrested for being involved in the racket.

PTI had earlier reported that the Jaipur Police arrested a candidate for cheating in the exam and the invigilator for taking photos of the paper and sending it to others via Whatsapp. Two men solved the paper and the invigilator then helped the candidate solve the same. Apart from the candidate and the invigilator, the police have nabbed the in-charge of the examination centre, uncle of the candidate, and four others in connection of the case.

Apart from them, the owner of an e-mitra centre Anil and the owner of a coaching centre in Alwar's Bansur were also arrested, the DCP said. Anil had mediated between the candidate, her uncle and the accused who facilitated in cheating.

"The deal was finalised for Rs 30 lakh of which Rs 10 lakh was to be given soon after the exam is over," she said.

As per the latest media report by the New Indian Express, the Police have identified the kingpin of the gang as the second topper of Rajasthan Pre-Medical Examination of 2010. In fact, he had allegedly worked as a Medical officer in Chittorgarh.

He allegedly used to spot students belonging to well-off families in various coaching centers and charge them money for sending qualified candidates take the exam for them. His network was spread all across the country.

Meanwhile, students have started being vocal about the issue and few of them started demanding that the exam should be conducted once again. One user wrote on Twitter, "Leaks of paper not only demoralises students,but also brings down the standard,efficiency & reputation of the medical education in the country. Re-exam is the only solution."

"say anything about it or issue anything? you told us that the neet paper leak was rubbish one day before the paper but one day after the paper, we know it was true? is this what we deserve? after working like goats for 2 years to only have 1 attempt and that is also scammed?" wrote another.
