Announcing this at the DCC Conflux-2025, R.S. Bali said the launch of the Nursing College marked a major milestone and added that advanced facilities, including robotic surgery, have strengthened the institute’s standing as one of Himachal Pradesh’s leading medical institutions.
According to a recent report by UNI, the Himachal Pradesh government is to construct separate boys' and girls’ hostels equipped with AIIMS-like facilities at a cost of Rs 5 crore for trainees at the Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda.
This was stated by HP Tourism Development Corporation Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Tourism Development Board (Cabinet rank) R.S. Bali on Tuesday.
Addressing the DCC Conflux-2025 programme as the chief guest at Tanda Medical College, Bali said the start of the Nursing College and commencement of its first batch was a historic achievement for the institution. He said it fulfilled the long-cherished dream of former minister and “Vikas Purush” late G.S. Bali, who had envisioned the establishment of a nursing college at Tanda.

Remembering late G.S. Bali, he said the establishment of Tanda Medical College itself was the result of his vision, which has today made it one of the leading medical institutions in the state, attracting patients from far-off areas.
He said the launch of the Nursing College marked a major milestone for the institution. Bali said robotic surgery has already been started at the medical college, benefitting thousands of patients, and added that the institute now provides facilities comparable to AIIMS, making it a premier medical institution of Himachal Pradesh, adds UNI
Earlier, DCC Chairman Dr Aryan Vishisht placed the issues of trainee doctors before the chief guest. Bali also honoured dignitaries by presenting mementos.
The programme was attended by Principal Dr Milap Sharma, HRTC Vice-Chairman Ajay Verma, District Congress Committee President Anurag Sharma, Additional Director Dr Major Avanindra Kumar, heads of various departments, DCC Chairman Dr Aryan Vishisht, doctors, Ayush Thakur, Smriti and trainee doctors.
