50-year-old Mumbai Doctor booked for stalking, harassing 27-year-old lab technician
Mumbai: A 50-year-old doctor working in Bandra has been booked for allegedly stalking and sexually harassing a woman lab technician.
As per the police, the doctor was booked on Saturday based on the complaint of a lab technician. As per the complainant, the 27-year-old woman came in contact with the doctor in 2015, when she began working as a lab technician at a clinic where the doctor was associated. She further stated the doctor began pressuring her to start a physical relationship and also made repeated calls to her demanding sexual favours. Harrassed, the techncian quit her job, but the doctor apparently continued to stalk and harass her.
"The complainant has said she met Khan in 2015 while working in a laboratory and the latter started stalking and sexually harassing her after she left the job. He has been doing this for the past six years. He is yet to be arrested," the police official told PTI.
The doctor has been booked under sections 354-A (sexual harassment), 354-D (stalking), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) among others of the Indian Penal Code after the 27-year-old woman filed a complaint, a Bandra police station official said.
