According to The Tribune media report, on July 11, unidentified bike-borne assailants had earlier opened fire at his hospital on the gangster’s instructions, after Fauji allegedly threatened the doctor with dire consequences if he failed to pay the demanded extortion money.

Ramdass Police Station SHO Agyapal Singh said that police teams are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the shooters. He added that four of Fauji’s associates had already been arrested in connection with the July firing incident and are currently lodged in jail.

After the doctor was recently injured, the police rushed to the spot and began a detailed investigation. They took the CCTV footage of the incident, and efforts are on to identify the suspects.

Although the exact reason behind the attack is unknown, the police suspect it may be linked to the foreign-based gangster Jeevan Fauji.
