Ranchi: Doctors are now not even safe in the sanctity of their own homes, a recent instance of violence has shown that a prominent orthopedic surgeon and owner of Gulmohar Hospital in Ranchi was attacked by a masked man with a rod when he was on the terrace of his house for a walk.
The doctor sustained a head injury and was admitted to Medica Hospital.
Alleging that doctors in the state were being attacked frequently, seven organisations of medical professionals announced that they will observe a token boycott of services on March 1 in protest.
