As per a recent media report by The Hitavada, the incident took place on Saturday afternoon in the AYUSH department of the hospital. The trainee doctor, who has been working there for the past three months, went to the staff room of the senior doctor for some official work.
She alleged that the doctor called her over and made inappropriate remarks, saying, “You don’t feel well, let me check you up,” and then tried to touch her inappropriately. When she refused and said she was fine, he allegedly tried to examine her and molested her.
The trainee doctor managed to get out of the room and immediately informed the college dean, Dr K K Sahare. Speaking in this regard, Dr Share said, "She filed a complaint against Dr ***. An internal redressal committee will investigate the matter."
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under the relevant BNS sections. "Further action will be taken after recording statements from both," said ASP Nitish Thakur.
