Bail plea of Noida Doctor accused of duping Rs 40 lakh on pretext of job rejected
Noida: The bail plea of a doctor who has been accused of cheating a resident of Rs 40 lakh on the pretext of getting a job in Dr Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa was rejected by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate.
The accused has been identified as Dr Nalin Kumar Sinha had allegedly cheated Munni Devi, a resident of Mithanpura Jagdishpur lane number 02.
The doctor was arrested by the Brahmapura police on Sunday from a rented flat in Greater Noida. After the hearing, the court sent him to judicial custody. The police had taken him to Muzaffarpur on the remand order of the Greater Noida Magistrate, Uttar Pradesh, reports the Granthshala. The bail application was filed on his behalf on Wednesday.
The complainant, Munni Devi had lodged a complaint following which an FIR was filed at the Brahmapura police station for cheating Rs 40 lakh on June 1. The FIR had stated Dr Nalin Kumar Sinha of Brahmapura, his wife, Vice Chancellor of Pusa Agricultural University Ramesh Kumar Srivastava as the accused. The complainant alleged that the doctor had duped them of money after promising their two daughters jobs in clerical posts at the Agricultural University of Pusa, reports the English News Agency.
Based on the instructions of the police and the senior police officer, the doctor was arrested on Sunday. The defense advocate Sharad Sinha stated that the doctor was sent to judicial custody by the court after hearing his side.
The District Prosecution Officer Gyanchand Bhardwaj strongly opposed the bail application. Sinha requested the court to release the doctor on bail, stating that he was innocent. He maintained that they would file an appeal against the order in the court of the district judge.
The advocate told that a policeman from Brahmapura police station had arrived to present Dr Sinha in court. The court had summoned the IO Anil Kumar Gupta who subsequently appeared in the court, following which the case was heard and the doctor was sent to judicial custody.
