Bhopal Doctor files complaint alleging rape by man on pretext of marriage

Bhopal: A Bhopal-based doctor recently filed a complaint against a man, alleging that the accused cheated her on the pretext of marriage.

The 27-year-old doctor was in a physical relationship with the man Monil Kulpuria after they were at a family function around one and a half years ago. The man approached the doctor to come into a relationship after he promised that he would marry her. However, soon she came to know that the accused is preparing for marriage to another girl.   

After confronting the matter, the accused threatened the doctor and warned her not to reveal the matter to anyone otherwise she would face serious consequences for her action. She then lodged a complaint of a rape case against the man, Free Press Journal reports.

Unable to cope with the harassment of the accused and feeling betrayed, she lodged a complaint. Following this an FIR was registered under Sections 376(2)-N, 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.

The police station in-charge Nilesh Awasthi said the accused is on the run and they have started a search investigation to nab the man.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that a man who allegedly sexually harassed a medical student on the pretext of marriage had been arrested from Jaipur. The two met each other through a dating application.    

The 23-year-old medico used to live as a paying guest in Central Delhi's Karol Bagh. The police said that the incident came to light when the medico made a complaint to the police that she met someone through a dating application who entered into sexual relations with her on the pretext of marriage.
