Botched Hair Transplant Deaths: Kanpur dentist surrenders before court
Kanpur: A Kanpur-based dentist, accused of conducting botched hair transplant procedures that allegedly resulted in the deaths of two young engineers, surrendered before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court on Monday.
Dr Anushka Tiwari was wanted in connection with a case of death by negligence.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kalyanpur) Abhishek Pandey, the doctor had submitted an application for surrender a few days ago.
According to the PTI report, the ACP said, “She appeared before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court today and formally surrendered''.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that after the death of a 37-year-old Assistant Engineer following a botched hair transplant surgery, another similar case surfaced, where an engineer died after undergoing the same procedure at the same private clinic by a dentist in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur. Following complaints from the families of the deceased, the Police have registered a case of culpable homicide against the dentist.
