DGHS Prof Dr Atul Goel takes charge as President of Dental Council of India
New Delhi: Prof (Dr) Atul Goel, the Director-General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India officially assumed the role of President of the Dental Council of India on Monday.
According to a recent circular issued by Mukesh Kumar (Secretary Incharge) Dental Council of India ordered that the DGHS, who is also a member of DCI and its Executive Committee, will perform the duties of the DCI President with immediate effect. This appointment will remain in place until the establishment of the National Dental Commission or until further orders are issued regarding the position, whichever occurs first.

Further, the Ministry directed that all official communication for the DCI President should now be directed to Dr Goel at the Dental Council of India office in New Delhi.
"The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Dental Education Section), Government of India vide its Order No.V.12025/128/2024-DE dated 24.02.2025 has Ordered that the Director-General of Health Services, Member of DCI as well as Member of the Executive Committee may discharge the functions of the President, DCI with immediate effect till the National Dental Commission is constituted or any other order issued to the said post, whichever is earlier, reads the circular issued on February 25.
