New Delhi: A doctor and a nurse at Indira Gandhi Hospital in Dwarka were allegedly verbally abused by two intoxicated men who became aggressive after being informed that x-ray services were unavailable at the facility.

According to the PTI report, Dr Lal said, “I explained that he needed to go to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital because after 8 pm, our hospital no longer had x-ray services available, and due to his glass wound, an x-ray was required”.

“When I asked him to go to the hospital, he began abusing me. Meanwhile, another patient with low blood pressure and other health issues came into the emergency room. As this patient was in a critical condition, I began treating him.

“At this point, the first patient started filming me, accusing me of ignoring his treatment and attending to another patient. They continued filming and verbally abusing me,” he said, news agency PTI reported.

As per a media report in The Indian Express, However, an argument broke out between them and the doctor over the lack of X-ray facilities at night. “Both men started misbehaving with and hurling abuses at the doctor and the woman nurse on duty at the time,” said the DCP.

The two men, however, decamped after the doctor called security.
