Doctors take Care: Medical fraternity loses 37-year-old pediatric rheumatologist to massive stroke
New Delhi: A 37-year-old pediatric rheumatologist, here, unfortunately, breathed her last after she suffered a massive stroke.
Dr Sumedha Mittal had an unprovoked dissection of infernal carotid, which proved fatal for the doctor. The doctor was associated with three major hospitals in the city.
She leaves behind a 5-year old child and her husband who is also a doctor
This is the third incident being reported in the past one week, where doctors have immediately collapsed, and many in the fraternity are now pointing to the important issue that doctors while taking care of their patients, have to look after their own health
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that Dr A K Meena, a senior Neurologist and Professor, Department of Neurology, Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) breath her last, last Friday while undergoing treatment, after she suffered from a cardiac arrest during an international medical conference in London. In another case, a 36-year-old gynaecologist, Satya Ramana, collapsed after completing a surgery in Nalgonda last week.
