Dr Kaushik Bhattacharya honoured with Springer Nature Editor of Distinction award 2025

Kishanganj: Dr Kaushik Bhattacharya, Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College at Kishanganj in Bihar, has been awarded the prestigious Springer Nature Editor of Distinction award 2025 for his outstanding editorial contributions and author service in the Indian Journal of Surgery. 

A distinguished figure in the medical community, Dr Kaushik Bhattacharya currently serves as the International Surgical Ambassador of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and a member of the editorial board of the Indian Journal of Surgery. He has more than 200 research publications in both International and national medical journals.

Dr Bhattacharya's contributions to medical writing and research have earned him multiple accolades, including- Fellowship of Postgraduate Medicine 2020 (FPM) International award in Medical writing on social media – by the Postgraduate Medical Journal, UK, Indian Medical Association DR. DEEPAK BANERJEE AWARD for Best Published in Journal of Indian Medical Association for research in 2021 and awarded the “INDIAN JOURNAL OF SURGERY CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE” by the Association of Surgeons of India in 2023.

The Springer Nature Author Service Award recognises the meticulous assessment of submissions and rigorous management of the peer review process, safeguarding the scientific accuracy of the published record and exceptional service in improving the author experience and ensuring the peer review process is efficient, constructive and fair. This is the first time Springer Nature, a German-British academic publishing company created by the May 2015 merger of Springer Science+Business Media and Holtzbrinck Publishing Group's Nature Publishing Group, Palgrave Macmillan, and Macmillan Education, is giving the Editor distinction awards in the entire academic world.

Dr Parvin Suryavanshi, President of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), has congratulated Dr Kaushik Bhattacharya. He was also congratulated by Dr Gaddi Diwakar, Hon Secretary, ASI, Dr Madhumata Mukhopadhyay, Treasurer, ASI, along with Dr Santosh John Abraham, Advisor, ASI and Dr SK Mishra, Advisor, ASI. The Registrar of Mata Gujri Medical University at Kishanganj, Dr Icchhit Jaiswal, has also expressed his joy and happiness for Dr Kaushik Bhattacharya being a part of the medical college faculty getting this international recognition.
