Faridabad Dental Surgeon jumps into Agra Canal, dies
Teen’s Death at PHC in Absence of Doctor Triggers Unrest in Udaipur
Faridabad: In a disturbing incident, a dental surgeon allegedly jumped into the Agra Canal from the Sector-17 bridge in Faridabad after a suspected argument with his wife.
The incident occurred around 7:45 pm when the deceased, a dental surgeon and resident of Yadav Colony in Ballabhgarh and originally from Dayalpur village, was returning home with his wife and their children after attending a family function at SRS Royal Hills society in Greater Faridabad.

His wife also attempted to move towards the canal but was restrained by a woman present at the spot. Their son immediately alerted his uncle, who reached the location within 10 minutes.
As darkness fell, locals gathered but hesitated to enter the canal. Despite information being given, divers did not arrive for nearly three hours, sparking outrage. Angry residents staged a protest and blocked the road near the bridge, forcing the police to intervene and pacify them, reports Tribune India.
An SDRF team eventually reached the spot around 11:30 pm and launched a search operation, which continued until 3:30 am but yielded no results. The operation resumed on Sunday morning under the supervision of SDM Ballabhgarh Mayank Bhardwaj, with additional officials, including a tehsildar, deployed at the site.
After nearly 20 hours, the body was recovered from the canal and sent to a mortuary, police said.
Speaking to Millennium Post, Inspector Devender Kumar, SHO of the Kheri Pul police station, said, “The doctor's body has been recovered from the Agra Canal after an extensive search. The police are currently investigating the motive behind the suicide by questioning the doctor’s wife.”
While initial reports suggested that an argument between the doctor and his wife inside the car may have triggered the incident, officials have cautioned that this remains speculative.
The doctor’s cousin refuted claims of any domestic dispute, asserting that there was no discord in the family. The deceased doctor and his younger brother, both dental surgeons, jointly run a clinic on Mohna Road, while their father is also a practising dentist.
