FIR against BHU Anaesthetist in 2019 death case

According to The Times of India, the dispute arose after the deceased allegedly recorded an objectionable video of the anaesthetist. The complainant claimed that once the doctor became aware of the recording, he demanded that the video be handed over. When he allegedly refused, it led to an alleged conspiracy to recover the clip.

The complainant further alleged that on July 30, 2019, the anaesthetist took the victim to Ahraura dam in Mirzapur on the pretext of a picnic. It was claimed that liquor was consumed along with two other companions, after which the victim was allegedly pushed into the dam, resulting in his death.

Confirming the development, Rohania police station in-charge Raju Singh said that an FIR was registered on February 7, immediately after receiving the court’s order. He added that since the incident dates back nearly seven years, the police are now in the process of re-examining evidence and reopening the investigation.

The police had initially registered a case soon after the incident in 2019, but later filed a final report calling the death accidental. Unhappy with the police's conclusion, the deceased’s brother moved the court, which eventually directed the registration of a fresh FIR.
