Suicide Threat Turns Fatal: Hyderabad Pharmacist Dies After Husband Allegedly Kicks Stool

Investigation Reveals Details in Bengaluru Dermatologist Murder Case
Hyderabad: A 28-year-old pharmacist was allegedly killed by her husband following a domestic dispute at their residence in Banjara Hills, sending shockwaves across the upscale neighbourhood.
According to the police, the incident occurred on Saturday night around 9.30 pm in the Film Nagar area under the limits of the Banjara Hills Police. The victim, identified as Kapu Aruna, was residing with her husband G. Kopanna and their two young sons. The family reportedly hailed from Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh, while Aruna was employed as a pharmacist in Hyderabad.
Police officials stated that Kopanna returned home in an inebriated condition, after which Aruna questioned him about his alcohol consumption and asked him to stop drinking. This reportedly triggered a heated argument between the couple.
During the altercation, Aruna allegedly took a saree, tied it to a ceiling hook, and stood on a stool, threatening to take her life if her husband did not give up alcohol. In an intoxicated state, Kopanna allegedly kicked the stool, causing Aruna to hang and get strangulated, resulting in her death on the spot.
The police rushed to the scene on receiving information and shifted the body to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination. After completion of legal formalities, the body was later handed over to family members.
According to a recent media report by Telangana Today, a case has been registered against the husband, who has been taken into custody for further questioning, while the police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
